Jean Chavez

THOREAU — Funeral services for Jean Chavez, 75, will be 10 a.m. Oct. 7 at the Thoreau Church of God. Burial will be in Thoreau Community Cemetery.

Chavez died Oct. 5, 2007 in Gallup. She was born May 7, 1932 in Thoreau into the Sleepy Rock People Clan for the Two Who Came to Water People Clan.

She was a homemaker and a full-time mother.

Survivors include husband Kenneth Chavez Sr.; sons, Kenneth Chavez Jr., Fredrick Chavez, Leslie Chavez, Harold Peralto; daughters, Joann Yazzie, Judy Spencer, Virginia Yazzie, June Chavez, Julia Johnson; brothers Eddie Peralto; sisters Lillian P. Vehenio, Ester Yazzie, Rose Mexicano, Lucy Arviso; 31 grandchildren adn 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Martha Peralto; brother Freddie Peralto.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Francisco, Daryl Yazzie, Kenneth Chavez Jr., Fredrick Chavez, Harold Peralto, Donavan Chatto.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Thoreau-Residence.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Marvin Harding

GANADO — Funeral services for Marvin Jack Harding, 43, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Presbyterian Church, Ganado. Pastor Michael Winslow will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Ganado. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Harding died Oct. 5, 2007 in Flagstaff. He was born June 27, 1964 in Ganado into the Salt People Clan for the One Who Walks Around People Clan.

Survivors include sons, Ryan, Matthew, both of Provo, Utah; daughters, Dana, Carmelita, Kiara, all of Provo, Utah; parents, Henry and Laverne Harding; brothers, Michael Lincoln, Tyrone Hardin, both Ganado; sisters, Marietta Lee of Ivins, Utah, Henrietta Rager of St. George, Utah, Marion Stevens of Cedar City, Utah; grandparents, Joe and Bertha Fuson of Dilcon, Ariz.; two grandchildren.

Harding was preceded in death by his grandparents Bennie and Marietta Harding.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Lincoln, Michael Lincoln Jr., Joey Harding, Darren Lee, Timothy Lincoln, Thomas Lincoln Joe.


Frances Zuver

WEST UNITY, Ohio — Funeral services for Frances Lucille Zuver, 80, will be Friday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Hollingshead Beck Funeral Home. Rev. Gene Sugg will officiate. Burial will be in the Floral Grove Cemetery of West Unity. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 11 from 2-8 p.m. at the Hollingshead Beck Funeral Home in West Unity.

Zuver died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 in Northwest Ohio, Bryan. She was born Oct. 25, 1926 in McClave, Colo.

She was a homemaker, and a child care provider for numerous children, and was a member of the Protestant church.

Suvivors include daughters, Paulette Potts of West Unity, Rosie Campell of Bowling Green, Ohio, Carol Jean Richards of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; two brothers, Luther Carpenter of Gallup, Richard Carpenter of Gallup; sister, Frankie Smith of Socorro; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Zuver was preceded in death by her parents, Velva Marie Coleman and Luther Carpenter; husband, Paul Edward Zuver; brothers, Charlie Carpenter, Roy Carpenter; sisters, Juanita Johnson, Rosie Long.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
