Alberto James

SPENCER VALLEY — Services for Alberto Johnny James, 4, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at Rollie Mortuary. Pastor Herbert Francisco will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup Sunset Memorial Park.

James died Oct. 10, 2007 in Spencer Valley, N.M. He was born March 14, 2003 in Cibola into the Towering House People Clan for the Water Edge People Clan.

He enjoyed playing with ducks and had a favorite duck blanket that he carried everywhere. He also enjoyed seeing new faces and loved to smile.

Survivors include parents, Phyllis James and Johnathan James Sr.; brothers, Alexander James, Johnathan James, Alex James; sisters, Pamela Yazzie, Alexandra James, June James, Alexandria James.

Pallbearers will be Herbert Yazzie Jr., KC Yazzie, Emerson Casamero, Johnny James.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Iyanbito Chapter House for a reception after.


Chester Hubbard Jr.

ALBUQUERQUE — Funeral services for Chester David Hubbard Jr., 56, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Ganado Presbyterian Church. Pastor Custer Lowe Jr. will officiate. Burial will in Del Muerto Draper Family Plot. Visitation will be Oct. 17 4 to 6 p.m. at Cope Memorial. Viewing will be at the church from 10 to11 a.m. Oct. 18 in Ganado.

Hubbard died Oct. 14, 2007 in Albuqerque. He was born Nov. 1, 1950 in Ganado.

Hubbard graduated from Window Rock High School in 1968 and attended Northern Arizona University. He was employed by the Boy Scouts of America and Fred Harvey Hospitality Corporation. He was an active member of the Navajo Nation Band for 43 years.

Survivors include sons, Christopher D. Hubbard of Va. U.S. Navy Chester David Hubbard III of Gallup, Michael Chester Hubbard of Phoenix; daughter, Candace Susan Hubbard of Gallup; brothers, Joseph H. Hubbard of Reno, NV, Donald F. Hubbard of Phoenix; sisters, Lydia Hubbard-Pourier of Phoenix, Cleora Shunkamolah of Gallup; two grandchildren.

Hubbard was preceded in death by mother, Louise Draper Hubbard; father, Chester D. Hubbard Sr.; grandparents, Henry and Garnet Draper, David and Annie Jose Hubbard.

Pallbearers will be Will Shunkamolah, Jeff Pourier, Joe Hubbard Jr., Matthew Shunkamolah, Phillip Hubbard, Kelvin Boggs.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Del Muerto Presbyterian Church.


Robert Wheeler III

MANY FARMS — Funeral services for Robert Edward Wheeler III, 31, will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 at the St. Anthony Catholic Chuch, Many Farms. Sister Adelaide, SFP will officiate. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Chinle. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.

Wheeler died Oct. 13, 2007 in Many Farms. He was born Aug. 27, 1976 in Ganado into the Big Water Clan for the Salt Water People Clan.

He attended Many Farms Elementary School, and graduated from Many Farms High School. Wheeler attended Dine College in Tsaile, Ariz.

Survivors include mother, Marie K. Wheeler of Many Farms; brothers, Nelson Wheeler Jr. and Marlon Wheeler both of Many Farms; sister, Jolene Wheeler of Many Farms; grandparents, Pauline Kinsel of Lukachukai.

Wheeler was preceded in death by father, Nelson Wheeler Sr.; grandmother, Atah Chee Yellowhair; grandfathers, Robert Edward Wheeler Sr., Henry Kinsel Sr.

Pallbearers will be Nelson Wheeler Jr., Marlon Wheeler, Eli Wheeler, Felix Begay, Thomas Kinsel, Tyrone Kinsel.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Marie K. Wheeler’s residence, Sunrise House #6, Many Farms.


Anita Begay

GALLUP — Funeral services are pending for Anita Rose Jones Begay, 50.

Begay died Oct. 15, 2007 in Albuquerque. She was born May 8, 1957 in Chinle.
