John Charley
CHINLE, Ariz. Funeral services for John Charley, 97, will
be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Father Blane Grein, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in the
family plot in Chinle. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
Charley died Oct. 26,2007 in Chinle. He was born Sept. 15, 1912
in Chinle into the Towering House People Clan for the Water Flows
Together People Clan.
He was employed as a farmer and a rancher and was a member of
the Native American Church. His hobbies included helping family
and friends with traditional ceremonies; he enjoyed visiting and
making new friends. He loved horses and being a cowboy.
Survivors include his sons, Wilson Charley, Dennison Charley,
both of Chinle; daughters, Juanita Begay of Lukachukai, Saraphina
Haudley of Chinle; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren.
Charley was preceded in death by wife, Anita Allen; second wife,
Helen Bitsui; brothers, Jack Toadlena, Woody Billy, John Billy;
sister, Hasbah Scott; parents, Toaheedllinii Isosi
and Naagleh Has Bah.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Bert and Rosanda
Charleys residence in Chinle.
Tso Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Silver
WIDE RUINS, Ariz. Funeral services for Mary Silver, 83,
will be 10 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 30 at the St. Ann Catholic Mission,
Klagetoh. Father Flann, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in
Wide Ruins Community Cemetery. Visitation will be at St. Ann Catholic
Mission after services.
Silver died Friday Oct. 26, 2007 in Gallup. She was born July
24, 1924 in Wide Ruins into the Bitter Water People Clan for the
Towering House People Clan.
Silver was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and tending to sheep.
In her younger years she enjoyed weaving and hearding sheep.
Survivors include sons, Ray Silver of Houell, John Silver of
Colo., Harry Silver, Albert Silver, both of Wide Ruins; daughters,
Lorraine Largo of Houck, Louise Sam of Wide Ruins, Celina Largo
of Houck, Elizabeth Jim, Suzie Jim, both of Wide Ruins; brothers,
Benard Louie of Wide Ruins, Herbert Louie of Naschitti, Jimmy
Louie of Greasewood; sister, Marie John; 43 grandchildren; 82
great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren.
Silver was preceded in death by husband, John Silver; son, Robert
Silver Sr.; daughter, Alice Tulley Yazzie; mother, Betty Louie;
and one grandson.
Pallbearers will be family members.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Angelita Quiver
TUBA CITY, Ariz. Memorial services for Angelita Ann Quiver,
51, will be 10 a.m. today, Oct. 29 at St. Judes Catholic Church,
Tuba City. Thomas Hettich will officiate.
Quiver died Oct. 24, 2007 in Phoenix. She was born March 31,
1956 in Tuba City into the Tangle People Clan for the Deer Spring
People Clan.
Quiver graduated from Window Rock High School.
Survivors include husband, Patrick Quiver of San Felipe, N.M.
William Martinez Jr.
YATAHEY Services are pending for William Anthony Martinez,
Jr., 29.
Martinez died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007 in Yatahey. He was born
Aug. 26, 1978 in Gallup.
Visitation will be at Rollie Mortuary Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 10
a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
