Phillip Dedman

NAZLINI, Ariz. – Services for Phillip Y. Dedman, 77, will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007 at the Presbyterian Church of Ganado. Pastor Roger Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Nazlini.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Dedman died Aug. 30, 2007 in Flagstaff. He was born April 11, 1930 in Nazlini into the Black Streaked Forest People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.

Dedman attended Fort Defiance schools and worked with the railroad. He also was a handyman and worked as a farmer for many years growing crops in Nazlini. His hobbies included working around the house and helping people

Survivors include his wife Yeakasbah G. Dedman of Nazlini; sons Johnny H. Yazzie of Nazlini, Johnson H. Yazzie of Phoenix; daughters Lena Pahe, Louise Yazzie, Caroline Yazzie, all of Nazlini, Katherine Curley of Fort Thomas, Ariz., Desbah Doig of Nazlini; brother Hoskie Y. Dedman of Chinle, 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Robert Dedman Jr., of Chinle.

Pallbearers will be Phillip H. Yazzie, Terry H. Yazzie, Kevin Wilson, Terrick Yazzie, Ron Eric Wilson and Terrill Yazzie.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Harold Yazzie

JONES RANCH – Services for Harold Yazzie, 50 will be announced at a later date.

Yazzie died Aug. 30 in Gallup. He was born July 20, 1957 in Blackrock, N.M.

A family meeting will be held today, at 6 p.m., at the Chichiltah Chapter House.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
