Dewayne Lee

GALLUP — Funeral services for Dewayne Lee, 31, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7 at Rollie Mortuary. Pastor Don Phoebus will officiate. Burial will follow at Gallup City Cemetery.

Lee died Sept. 2, 2007 in Gallup. He was born April 14, 1976 in Fort Defiance into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Lee attended elementary school in Cottonwood, Ariz., mid school at Fort Wingate, and Gallup High School. He loved cookouts, playing pool, fishing, and spending time with his children, nephews, and nieces. Lee was employed with American Bar as a bartender.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Denetclaw of Gallup; sons, Brandon Lee and Kevin Arthur both of Gallup; daughters, Tasheena Lee and April Lee both of Gallup; parents, Nora Lee and Dennison Eskeets both of Gallup; brothers, Shawn Tully of Gallup; sisters, Violet Lee, Latisha Lee, and Delaina Eskeets all of Gallup; and grandmother, Bessie Eskeets of Churchrock.

Lee was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Lee and Betty Lee; and sister, Norma Lee.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Ashley, Douglass Cooyate, Preston Denetclaw, George Milliken, Kenny Silva, Hubert Yazzie, and Kenneth Martinez.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Hewritt Francisco

ROCK SPRING — Services for Hewritt James Francisco, 36, will be announced at a later date.

Francisco died Sept. 2, 2007 in Flagstaff. He was born January 11, 1971 in Rehoboth into the Zia-Weaver People Clan for the Meadow People Clan.

Robert Lee

GALLUP — Funeral services for Robert Jason (Robo) Lee, 42, will be announced at a later date.

Lee died Sept. 4, 2007 in Gamerco. He was born Aug. 2, 1965 in Gallup.


Douglas Howes

GALLUP — Funeral services for Douglas E. Howes, 78, will be at noon Friday, Sept. 7 at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Layloni Drake will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 6 at First United Methodist Church.

Howes died Sept. 1, 2007 in Mesa. He was born April 25, 1929 in Dearborn, Mich.

Howes was a lifetime resident of Gallup, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and a member of the Elks Lodge. He was a longtime business owner.

Survivors include his son, Doug W. Howes of Mesa, Ariz.; daughter, Jodi Cipares of Tucson; sister, Gloria Leipes of Dearborn, Mich.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Howes was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Howes; son, David Miller; daughter, Stacie Lynn Howes.

Pallbearers will be Danny D. Howes, Ryan D. Howes, Robert “Bob” Stolfa, Dan Stanley, Ervin “Nuey” Johnson, and Sonny Bolin.

The family will receive relatives and friends at First United Methodist Church following services.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.


Estefanita Salazar

GRANTS — Funeral Mass for Estefanita Salazar, 89, will be at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 6 at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church in Cubero. Father Larry will officiate. Burial will follow at Cubero Cemetery.

A rosary was at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Salazar died Sept. 4, 2007 in Grants. She was born Sept. 28, 1971 in Cubero.

Survivors include her sons, Phillip Jaramillo of Grants and Willie Jaramillo of Milan; daughters, Juana Sarceda of Grants, Nicki Marquez of Seboyeta, Nancy Gonzales, Cecilia Valdez of Grants, Blanche Garza of San Diego, Calif., Bonnie Griego of Grants, and Bernadette Quinonez of Dover, Del.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Salazar was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Jaramillo; parents, Bonifacio and Cecilia Salazar; seven brothers; and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Gonzales, Charles Marquez, Joseph Sarceda, Johnny Maestas, Justin Maestas, Michael Sarceda, Paul Gonzales, Nathan Jaramillo, and David Jaramillo.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


John Tsosie

CORNFIELDS — Funeral services for John Fred Tsosie, 55, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Cornfield Community Cemetery.

Tsosie died Sept. 1, 2007 in Cornfields. He was born Aug. 10, 1952 in Ganado into the Bitter Water People Clan for the One Who Walks Around Clan.

Tsosie was a graduate of Ganado High School in 1971. He was in the Armed Forces from 1972 to 1974.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Davis; sons, Aaron Tsosie, Kyle Tsosie, Keremit Tsosie; stepsons, Melray Davis, and Mark Davis; daughters, Derecka Tsosie; stepsisters Lisa Davis, and Bernita Davis; father, Fred Tsosie; brothers, Eugene Tsosie, Edison Tsosie, and Taylor Tsosie; sisters, Lorrian Dalgai and Bernita Tsosie; and one grandchild.

Tsosie was preceded in death by his mother, Martha K. Tsosie; and his grandparents, Friday Kinlichee and Yilnasbah Kinlichee.

Pallbearers will be Michael Tsosie, Matthew Tsosie, Stewart Cowboy, Lawrence Begay, Edison Tsosie, and Calvin Chee.

Stella B. Davis

LUKACHUKAI — Services for Stella B. Davis, 80, will be at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 6 at Tsaile Community Church. Burial will follow at Lukachukai Community Cemetery.

Visitation was from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 5 at Desert View Funeral Home in Shiprock.

Davis died Sept. 3, 2007 in Chinle. She was born March 15, 1927 in Lukachukai into the Water Flow Together Clan for the Red Bottom People Clan.

Survivors include her sons, Herbert Harvey of Continental Divide and Cecil G. Davis of Mentmore; daughters, Barbara Jean Davis, Lila G. Bahe, Vivian G. Thompson, and Lillian G. Begay, all of Lukachukai and Joanne G. Yazzie of Tsaile; 37 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Davis was preceded in death by her sons, Gilbert Davis and Herman J. Benally; brothers, Cecil Williams and Peter Goodluck; sisters, Esther Brady, Sarah Tso, and Lucy Begay.
Pallbearers will be Richard Davis, Jr., Lyle W. Begay, Randy Harvey, Harold Benally, Jeffrey Begay, Helbert Benally, Chelston Thompson, and Craighton Thompson.


Travis Coulston

GALLUP — Funeral services for Travis Don Coulston, 17, will be announced at a later date.

Coulston died Sept. 2, 2007 in Gallup. He was born July 11, 1990 in Gallup for the Water Flows Together People Clan.

A family meeting will be at 6 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Sept. 6, at 1200 East Aztec St. in Gallup.
