David Corley

GRANTS – Services for David Corley, 79, will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan. Pastor Garland Moore will officiate. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park

Visitation was Monday, Sept. 10 from 5-7 p.m., at Compassion Mortuary.

Corley died Sept, 6, 2007 in Grants. He was born Sept., 16, 1927 in Clarksville, Texas.

Corley was a service station owner in Window Rock, ARiz. for years.

Survivors include his children Delores Corely of Turnnock, Calif., Ernestine Corley Holman of Albuquerque, David corley Jr., of San Carlos, Calif., Doris Iewll Corley Evans of Sacramento, Calif., Vernon Ray Corley of Madera, Calif., Vera Mae Corley Hill of Redwood City, Calif., Phillip Corley of Albuquerque, Louella Corley of Houston, Rescilla Cook, Patricia Richards, Pamela Richardson and Phillis Shorty; 31 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brothers Ed B. Corley, Sr., of Milan, Milton Corley of Seattle, James B. Corley of Phoenix; sisters Esther Wadley of Sacramento, Ida Bell of Dallas, Ruth Smith of Dallas, Verena Smith of Albuquerque, Etolia Wherry of Wichita Falls, Texas, Opal Melto nof Milan.

He was preceded in death by his parents C.J. Corley and Eva Derrick Corley; brothers Alonzo Corley , Oscal Corley; sister Lesby Jones, Ada Mae Sparks; sons Oscar Corley, ond one granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Corley Jr. Kaul D. Corley, Stacey Corley, Wayne Melton, Willie Henderson,Don Sayd and Willie Jones.


Joseph Cordova

ALBUQUERQUE – Services for Joseph L. “Archie” Cordova, 65, will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007 at Bethany Christian Church in Gallup. Pastor Corwin Brummel will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial cemetery in Gallup.

Visitation will be noon to 4:30 p.m., today at Rollie Mortuary.

Cordova died Sept. 5, 2007 in Albuquerque. He was born July 18, 1942 in Gallup.

Cordova enjoyed being outdoors and doing wood crafts and carpentry. He liked keeping up with the news, watching the Cowboys and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife Lauretta Cordova of Gallup; sons, Joseph Cordova Jr., of Gallup; daughters Celena Cordova, Tomasita Cordova, both of Albuquerque, Danielle Cordova of Gallup; brothers Frankie Cordova of Gallup and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Tomasita Cordova; brother Reyes Cordova; sisters Ida Villanueva, Margaret Garcia, Rose Jaramillo.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Cordova Jr., Richard Jaramillo, Lino Diaz Jr., Alfred Maciarello, Danny Villanueva and Genaro Villanueva Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at 506 West Highway 66 following the burial.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Jone Joe

TWIN BUTTES, N.M. – Services for Jone C. Joe, 86, will be announced at a later date.

Joe died Sept. 7, 2007 in Gallup. He was born Feb. 21, 1921 in Ramah.

A family meeting will be at 5 p.m. today, Sept. 10, at the Red Rock Chapter House.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements


Robert Henry

SMITH LAKE – Services for Robert Henry, 60, will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11 at Highland Church in Smith Lake. Angela Begay will officiate. Burial will follow at Smith Lake Community Cemetery.

Henry died Sept. 7, 2007 in Smith Lake. He was born April 12, 1947 in Phoenix into the Near the Mountain People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Henry graduated from Gallup High School in 1969. He attended Crownpoint Institute and received a certificate in carpentry and maintenance. He also attended the Santa Fe School for the Blind and Deaf and he enjoyed working and participating in community activities.

Survivors include his parents Gladys Tso Henry of Smith Lake; brothers Edmund J. Henry Jr., Benjamin Henry, Jasper Henry, Kent F. Henry, all of Smith Lake; sisters Jean Whitehorse, Pearl T. Wagner Henry, Genevieve R. Yazzie, all of Smith Lake, Melvina H. Weaslehead of Alberta, Canada.

Pallbearers will be Edmund J. Henry Jr., Jasper Henry, Benjamin Henry, Kent Henry, Steven O. Henry and Jason Henry.

The family will receive relatives and friends at his mother, Gladys T. Henry’s residence in Smith Lake.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
