Sadie Tsosie
WHEATFIELDSFuneral services for Sadie Ben Tsosie will be
at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 13 at St. Isabel Cathoic Church, Lukachukai,
Ariz. Interment will follow at Lukachukai Community Cemetery.
Tsosie,89, of Wheatfields, died Sept. 9, 2007 inFarmington. Tsosie
was born on March 1, 1918 at Upper Greasewood, Ariz.
Survivors include daughters Isabelle Dempsey of Kirtland, Angela
Tyler of Farmington; sons Ambrose Tsosie of Ganado, Ariz., David
Tsosie of Wheatfields, Herman Tsosie of Tsaile, Ariz.; brother
Truman Davis of Salt Lake City; sister Charolotte Mark of Parker,
Utah.
Tsosie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Tsosie; mother
Susie Whitehair Davis; father Ben Davis; son Clarence F. Tsosie,
Sr.; and 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charleston Claw, Julian Parrish, Leland Tyler,
Ervin Dempsey, Clarence Tsosie, Jr., and Lorenzo Tsosie.
Joe Nez
KLAGETOH Funeral services for Joe Harris Nez, 75, will
be at 10 a.m. Sept. 15 at St. Annes Mission, Klagetoh, Ariz.
Brother John Holstrom will officiate. Burial will be in Klagetoh
Community Cemetery. Visitation will be at Tse Bonito Mortuary
Chapel, Sept. 14.
Nez died Sept. 8, 2007 in Klagetoh. He was born Oct. 10, 1936
in Klagetoh, into the Big Water People Clan for the Edgewater
People Clan.
Nez attended Klagetoh Boarding School for five years, and Sherman
Indian School. He worked in the Southern Pacific, Burlington Northern
railroads, Klagetoh Trading Post, and was a ranch hand in Colorado.
His hobbies were helping in traditional ceremonies, herding sheep,
song and dance, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Carol Nez of Klagetoh,; son Nathan
Nez of Ganado, Ariz.; daughter Karen Miller of Window Rock,; brother
Franklin Jones of Wide Ruins, Ariz.; sister Emma Kee of Klagetoh,;
and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Hosteen and Bah-Begay; sisters
Marie Nez Yazzie and Desbah Nez.
Pallbearers will be Nathan H. Nez, Henry Miller, Marty Smith,
Peyton Nez, Ben Benally and Henry Nez.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Klagetoh Chapter
House following services.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Leahman Brown
SALT LAKE CITY Funeral services for Leahman Lee Brown,
31, will be at 1 p.m., Sept. 14 at the Gospel Light House Church
in Iyanbito, N.M. Pastor Mark Thomas will officiate.
Brown was born May 14, 1976 in Gallup, into the Towering House
People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Brown attended Gallup High School and West High School in Salt
Lake City. He was a construction worker and enjoyed hip-hop music,
reading and crafting jewelry.
Survivors include his sons Sabre, Sebastian and Sirus; and grandparents
Tom Chischilly and Bertha Chischilly.
Brown was preceded in death by father Herman Lee Brown, mother
Angelia Charleston, grandmother Grace Charleston.
The family will receive relatives and friends following the memorial
services at the Gospel Light House Church in Iyanbito.
Shirley Norton-Zamarron
TOHATCHI Funeral services for Shirley Jean Norton-Zamarron,
63, will be at 10 a.m. on Sept. 14, at the 1st Navajo Christian
Reform Church in Tohatchi, NM. Pastor Bobby Boyd will officiate.
Burial will be in Tohatchi Cemetery.
Norton-Zamarron died Sept. 9 in Albuquerque. She was born June
17, 1944 in Tohatchi, into the Folded Arms People Clan for the
Black Streak of Forest People Clan.
She graduated from Kirtland Central High School and trade school
in Cleveland, Ohio. She retired from N.M. Human Services in 1991
after 14 years as a caseworker. She enjoyed being with family,
sewing, crocheting and writing.
Survivors include daughters Sherry Norton, Shawna Norton-Jim,
and Nicolette R. Norton all of Tohatchi,; brothers Frank Norton
Jr., Arthur Norton both of Tohatchi, and Franklin Norton of Calif.;
sisters Rose Morris of Farmington, and Shirley Ann Norton of Fort
Defiance, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
Norton-Zamarron was preceded in death by parents Frank Norton
Sr. and Grace D. Norton; brothers Leonard Norton, Eddie Norton
and Vernon Norton; and sister Carol Hubbard.
Pallbearers will be Michael Ray Norton, Donald Norton, Marvin
Norton, Ramon Hubbard, Paul Davis, Jarrod Stevens, Ervin Watson,
Art Norton, Frank Norton Jr., Donovan Norton, Devin Norton and
Parryl Valentino.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Tohatchi Chapter
House following services.

Tim Harry
IYANBITO Funeral services for Tim Harry, 71, will be at
10 a.m. at the Cope Memorial Chapel. Reverend Lynch will officiate.
Harry died Sept. 9 in Gallup. He was born Sept. 24, 1935 in Fort
Wingate, NM. into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan for the
Gray Streak Ends People Clan.
Survivors include sons Autrey Harry of Shiprock, Tommy Livingston
of Blackhat, N.M.; daughters Clara Harry of Pinedale, NM., Elsie
Author, Susana Begay, Dorothy Morris of Churchrock, NM., Lenora
Chee of Chichilta, NM.; brothers James Harry Sr., Vernon Harry
both of Pinedale, Timothy Harry of Pinesprings; sisters Ada Smith,
Angela Smith of Iyanbito, Marlene Chee of Lukuchukai; 23 grandchildren
and four great grandchildren.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary N. Harry;
brother Wilburt Harry Sr.; and sisters Pownell Nelson, Clarissa
Silversmith and Mattie R. Largo.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Norton, Phillip Smith, Shannon Smith,
Nathan Harry, Ricky Smith and Raymond Smith.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
