John Zollinger
GALLUP Memorial services for John K. Zollinger, 86, will
be at 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21 at the Church of the Holy Spirit
Episcopal Church, 1334 Country Club Drive, Gallup.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20
at Rollie Mortuary.
Zollinger died Sept. 14, 2007 in Gallup. He was born Feb. 4,
1921 in Piqua, Ohio.
Zollinger was an owner and former publisher of the Gallup Independent.
He bought the newspaper in in 1964. Zollinger graduated from Miami
University in Oxford, Ohio and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was a World War II veteran and served as a navigator during
the war, seeing action in the Pacific Theater. He worked for several
newspapers before moving to Gallup and owning the Independent.
He ran the day-to-day operations before turning the paper over
to his son in 1984. He and his wife traveled around the world,
worked with the National Geographic Magazine in expeditions where
he digged, worked and catalogued ruins in France and Jamaica.
He supported many community projects, including UNM-Gallup campus
and RMCH.
Survivors include his wife Martha Zollinger of Gallup; sons Robert
Zollinger and wife Karen Zollinger of Gallup, Jack Zolinger and
wife Jane of Naples, Fla., and his grandchildren Mary Kate Donahue,
Tara Henderson, Daniel Zollinger, Rachel Zollinger, Hannah Hebert
and Ethan Hebert
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mary Ann Zollinger
Scholarship Fund at UNM-Gallup.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Leonard Francis
TSEDETHA CANYON Funeral services are pending for Leonard
K. Francis, 60, of Tsedetha Canyon, New Mexico.
Francis died Sept. 17, 2007 in Tsedetha Canyon. He was born July
2, 1947 in Tsedetha Canyon.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Roselyn Guy
CHINLE Funeral services for Roselyn Ann Guy, 50, will be
at 10 a.m. Sept. 21 at the Our Lady of Fatima, Chinle. Father
Blaine will officiate. Burial will be in Chinle Cemetery. Visitation
will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 21 at the Our Lady of Fatima. A rosary
will be recited at Our Lady of Fatima.
Guy died Sept. 16, 2007 in Chinle. She was born March 8, 1957
in Ganado into the Towering House People Clan for the Born for
Coyote Pass People Clan.
She attended Chinle High School and Northern Pioneer College.
She worked for Chinle Day Care Center. She had numerous work certificates.
She enjoyed sewing quilts and curtains, crafts, always helping
other and visiting family and friends.
Survivors include sons, Roland Tsosie, Ryan Tsosie; Daughter,
Rebecca Guy; Parents George Guy Sr. and Rose Guy; brothers, Billy
Guy, Alfred Guy, Elebert Guy, George Guy Sr.; sisters, Betty Towne,
Emma Tsosie, Rosemary Guy, Jacqueline Guy; grandparents, Dagah
Chee Begay, Bah Begay, Notah Draper, Elouise Draper; three grandchildren.
Guy was preceded in death by George Guy Sr.
Pallbearers will be Roland J. Tsosie, Ryan G. Tsosie, Wilfred
Yazzie, Philbert Towne, Oscar Hernandez, Jerry Teller.
The family will receive relatives and friends at George Guy Sr.s
Residence.

Terry Schwartz
LAS VEGAS Burial and graveside services for Terry E. Schwartz,
50, will be in Grants, New Mexico at the Grants Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 2-5pm Thursday, Sept. 20 at Nelson Funeral
Home. A rosary will be at 7pm Thursday, Sept. 20 at Immaculate
Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM. Mass will be on Friday,
Sept. 21 at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church.
Schwartz died on Sept. 17, 2007. She was born Oct. 7, 1956 in
Bishop, California.
She was a business owner of Aid Ambulance, and worked in the
field of emergency medicine for over 30 years, and received her
EMT license in New Mexico. She received the honor of a Presidential
Congressional Certificate of appreciation for her services with
the National New Mexico DMAT team in the aftermath of Hurricane
Hugo.
Survivors include her daughters Hyacenth Sedillo, and Bobbi Lopez;
mother Phyllis Bingham; sister, Collette Salazar; four grandchildren.
Schwartz was preceded in death by her father, two children, and
husband Leo Sedillo.
Pallbearers are Timothy and Tracy Sedillo, Mayo Encinias, Manuel
Espinoza, Kenneth Gonzales and Jim Marshal.
