Tony Barbone Sr.

PUEBLO PINTADO, N.M, — Funeral services for Tony Barbone Sr., 77, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Pueblo Pintado. Bishop Billy Moore will officiate. Burial will be in family land in Torreon.

Barbone died June 14, 2008, in Albuquerque. He was born Jan. 7, 1931, in Torreon, into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Tangle People Clan.

Barbone attended Crownpoint Boarding School. He was employed with BIA schools in Pueblo Pintado and retired after 35 years. His hobbies included hunting, cooking, traveling and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy R. Barbone of Pueblo Pintado; sons, Troy Barbone Sr. of Pueblo Pintado, Tony Barbone Jr. of Farmington, Tyrone Barbone of Ojo Encino, Timothy P. Barbone of Gallup; daughters, Theresa Blackbird of Pueblo Pintado, Tina T. PaQuin of Santa Quin, Utah, Tessie Nez of Santaquin, Utah, Terri Redhouse of Payson, Utah., Tia A. Begay of Crownpoint; brother, Donald Barbone of Torreon; 28 grandchildren.

Barbone was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Barbone, Mary Nez; sisters, Eleanor Willetto, Ethel Etcitty; brother, Daniel Barbone.
Pallbearers will be Tony Barbone Jr., Jaymie Nez, Cory PaQuin, Teo Barbone, Tyren Barbone, Micheal Redhouse, Tori Barbone.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Priscilla Willetto-Charley’s residence, Torreon.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mona Cox

GALLUP — Funeral services for Mona Cox, 100, will be at Happy Hill Church, near Ramona, Okla. Robert Boyle will officiate. Interment will be at Ramona, Okla.

Cox died June 14, 2008.

Survivors include her daughter, Anna May Cox of Ramona, Okla; sons, Jerry Cox of Tulsa, Okla., Jim Cox of Gallup; sisters, May Blevins, Dora Roberts of Ok.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to RMCH Hospice of Gallup.

Ambrose King Sr.

IYANBITO — Funeral services for Ambrose King Sr., 72, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, at the Gospel Light House Chapel. Mark Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery.

King died June 13, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Fort Wingate, into the Water Edge People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

King attended the 8 year Education Program at Intermountain Indian School, Brigham City, Utah. King lived and worked in Oakland, Calif., as a carpenter for nine years. He moved back to Iyanbito in 1969 and worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Iyanbito Gospel Light Church. Yazzie enjoyed cooking, playing guitar, playing basketball and baseball. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mable H. King; sons, Peter Johnson, Ambrose King Jr., both of Gallup; daughters, Monica Peterson of Gallup, Marsha Ganadonegro of Iyanbito, Marlina King of Gallup, Marcia King of Iyanbito; brother, Raymond King; sisters, Bernice Willie, Beatrice Johnson, Cora Endito, all of Iyanbito, Geraldine King of Gallup; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

King was preceded in death by his father, Buck King; mother, Minnie Enrike; brother, James K. Smith Sr.

Pallbearers will be Alden King, Vance E. King, Danny Peterson, Everett King.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Iyanbito Chapter House, 2 p.m., Wednesday June 18.

Frank Kiro

ALBUQUERQUE — Visitation for Frank M. Kiro, 89, will be 12-7 p.m., today, June 17, at Rita Romero residence. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Final visitation will be June 18, at the St. Elizabeth Church, Paguate from 10:30-11 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Paguate Cemetery.

Kiro died June 14, 2008.

Kiro was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include his companion Elizabeth Arkie, his ex-wife Ida Kiro; children, Christine Vallejos, Gloria Lee, Erma Todachine, Eugene Kiro, LuAnn Gutierrez, Virginia Vallez, Michael Frank Kiro, of Farmington, Teresa Wood, Bernadette Kiro, Georgianna Kiro, Michael A. Kiro, Robert Patrick Kiro; sister, Rita Romero; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren.

Kiro was preceded in death by his parents, George and Susie Kiro; sons, John Joseph, Lawrence Kenneth Kiro.

Pallbearers will be Michael Frank Kiro, Michael Gonzales, Robert Vallejos Jr., Jonathan Todachine, Hamilton Dominic Lee, Cody Ray Kiro.

Lennie Parker

MANUELITO — Services are pending for Lennie Parker, 75.

Parker died Sunday, June 15, in Gallup. He was born July 16, 1932, in Rocky Point, into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan for the Water’s Edge People Clan.

Elias Rangel

THOREAU — Funeral services for Elias (Leo) William Rangel, 84, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Rev. Donald Richardson will officiate. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Thoreau. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m., tonight, June 17, at Rollie Mortuary.

Rangel died June 14, 2008, in Thoreau. He was born Oct. 16, 1923, in McGaffey.

Rangel attended Cathedral School. He served in the 3rd Tank destroyer Platoon, U.S. Army, WWII. He worked as a trader at Thoreau Trading Post. His hobbies included reading western books, fishing, hunting, and handiwork. He loved his animals.

Survivors include his wife, Lourine L. Rangel; sons, Johnny Rangel, Ricky Rangel, both of California, Ken White of Gallup, Ernest Rangel of Haystack, Elias Rangel of Thoreau; daughters, Gloria Rangel, Dottie Rangel, both of Thoreau; brother, Carlos Sanchez of Gallup; sister, Mary D. Chavez of California; seven grandchildren.

Rangel was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Sanchez, Rutina Montoya; step-parents, Dan Rangel, Felicita De Ebga; brothers, Edward Sanchez, Alfonzo Sanchez, Teddy Sanchez, Peter Sanchez.

Pallbearers will be Elias Rangel Jr., Hank Meyers, Teddy Lucero, Mark Sanchez, Vincent Larry, Rollin Martinez.

Billie Sarracino

WHEATFIELDS, Ariz. — Funeral services for Billie H. Sarracino, 94, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, at the St. Isabele Parish Mission, Lkachukai. The Rev. Blane Grein will officiate. Burial will be in St. Isabel Cemetery, Lukachukai.
Sarracino died June 14, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Chinle, into the Edgewater People Clan for the Big Water People Clan.

Sarracino completed 12th grade from Santa Fe Indian School. He was a boxer, wrestler, football player and band member. He was employed at the railroad, BIA, Rancher, and was a WWII Veteran receiving the American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal. His hobbies included writing, ranching, being with family, singing and listening to a variety of music.

Survivors include his sons, Paul Sarracino of Lukachukai, Donald Sarracino of Albuquerque, Franklin Sarracino of Pinon, Freddie Sarracino of Navajo; daughters, Clara Sarracino of Chinle, Rosalyn John of Del Muerto, Lena Begay of Fort Defiance, Angelita Wilson of Navajo; sister, Sadie Yazzie of Chinle; 35 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.

Sarracino was preceded in death by Addie Sarracino, Lorencita Sarracino, Pauline, Nanabah, Mae, Fannie, Linda, Sally, Francis Begay, Sam.
Pallbearers will be Freddie Sarracino, Donald Sarracino, Derrick Sarracino, Jonathan Begay, Ambrose Sarracino, Milton Curley.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Wheatfields Chapter House, following services.

Adrian Yazzie

GALLUP, N.M. — Funeral services for Adrian Aaron Yazzie, 25, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, at the Rollie Mortuary, Gallup. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallup. A rosary will be recited 3-4:30 p.m., today, June 17, at Rollie Mortuary.

Yazzie died June 12, 2008, in Albuquerque. He was born May 27, 1983, in Gallup.

Yazzie graduated from Gallup High School in 2002. He enlisted in the Marines and served in Iraq. Yazzie loved his nieces and nephews and was an outgoing and loving person.

Survivors include his stepfather, Raymond and mother, Angelena White; brothers, Randy R. White, Colin R. White, both of Crownpoint; sisters, Shantel H. White, Carmen T. White, both of Crownpoint; grandparents, Willie J. Yazzie, Helen Wero Yazzie.

Yazzie was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Lucy Wero; great-grandfather, Little Billy Wero; grandmother, Mary Carson; great-grandfather, Juan B. Yazzie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Churchrock Chapter House, following services.
