ROCK SPRINGS — Services are pending for Ella B. Benally, 74.

Benally died June 22, 2008, in Gallup. She was born Aug. 16, 1933, in Tsayatoh.

A rosary will be recited 6 p.m., Thursday, June 26, at Rollie Mortuary.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Burr, Theoron

GALLUP — Funeral services for Theoron Brian Burr, 39, will be 9 a.m., June 26, at the Joshua Generation For Jesus Church. The Rev. Pastor Dennis Gallegos will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth Mission Cemetery, Rehoboth.
Burr died June 22, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Oct. 19, 1968, in Gallup, into the Hanging Over Rock People Clan for the Charcoal Streak People Clan.

Burr graduated from Gallup High School in 1987. He worked as a tire retreader, maintenance worker, laborer at companies. His hobbies included, fishing, playing horse shoes, bowling, barbequeing, mechanical work, and family gatherings.

Survivors include his mother, Belle Burr; brother, Raymond Sandy Burr; sisters, Charlotte A. Burr-Lorenzo, Cassandra L. Burr, Sheryl L. Blue Eyes, Malinda L. Burr, Kimberly R. Burr.

Burr was preceded in death by his father, Sandy Burr; grandfather, Theodore Begay.

Pallbearers will be Jason Burr, Johnny Blue Eyes, Barry Barber, Brandon Lorenzo, Mike Martin, and Eugene Montano.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Joshua Generation for Jesus Church, 1375 Elva Dr., Gallup, following services.

Chavez, Henry

LITTLE WATER — Funeral services for Henry L. Chavez, 50, will be 10 a.m. June 26, at the White Point Penecostal, Little Water. The Rev. Harry D. Largo will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, Little Water.

Chavez died June 21, 2008, in Haystack. He was born July 19, 1957, in Crownpoint, into the Hairy Ones People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Chavez attended Crownpoint High School. He worked as a silversmith. His hobbies included ranch work, horseback riding, and basketball.

Survivors include his common-law wife, Shirley Barbone of Borrego Pass; sons, Roland Chavez of Churchrock, Casey Chavez of Churchrock, Owen, Tyson, Kevin Toland of Borrego Pass; daughters, Robin, Chelsey, Rynelle, Shynelle, all of Borrego Pass, Natasha Barbone of Borrego Pass; brothers, Kimsey Chavez of Sanostee, Leon Chavez of Crownpoint, Emerson Chavez of Little Water, Gino Chavez of Little Water; sisters, Louva Enrico of Little Water; three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gino Chavez, Roland Chavez, Casey Chavez, Lou Andrew Chavez, Elbert Smith, and Daniel Dakai.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Little Water Chapter, following services.

Murphy, Sam

SANDERS — Funeral Mass for Sam Murphy, 96, will be 10 a.m. June 26, at the Houck Catholic Church. The Rev. Berard Doerger will officiate. Burial will be in Houck Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., June 26, at the Houck Catholic Church.

Murphy died June 22, 2008, in Winslow. He was born July 7, 1911, in Sanders, into the Charcoal Streaked Division People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.

Murphy helped put up a fence from Sanders to Leupp, and he worked for the Railroad for more than 30 years where he retired in 1978. His hobbies included training horses, going to rodeos and being a silversmith in his younger days. Murphy enjoyed being with family, helping out at ceremonies, and liked to tend his sheep.

Survivors include his wife Laura Murphy of Sanders; sons, Andrew Murphy, Presley Murphy, of Querino Canyon, Ariz.; daughters, Stella Nelson of Cedar Point, Sadie Ashley, Maggie Murphy of Querino Canyon, Martha Tom of Dennehotso, Ariz., Pauline Murphy of Querino Canyon; brother, Benjamin J. Murphy; sister, Emma K. Joe; 32 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Murphy was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Edith Murphy; sons, Eli Murphy, Dan Murphy; one grandson; 10 siblings.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Murphy, Presley Murphy, Nakai Murphy, Etsitty Murphy, Garrison Murphy, and Leland Iashie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Houck Chapter House, following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
