Weekend edition By Independent staff GALLUP Effective Saturday, the cost to purchase a copy of the weekend edition of the Gallup Independent will go up a quarter to $1. Independent Publisher Robert Zollinger said the increase is being driven by the sharp rise in gasoline prices over the past year. Most of the increase will go to our carriers, he said in announcing the first increase in single edition prices for the paper since 1994. Single copy costs of papers on the weekdays will remain at 50 cents and there will be no increase in the cost for home delivery. Zollinger said the regional newspaper will not publish an edition on July Fourth. This will allow the newspapers employees to spend the holiday with their families. The newspaper will resume publication as usual with the weekend edition July 5, Zollinger said. |
