3 suspects held in Gamerco shooting

GAMERCO — Shots shattered the early evening quiet here Wednesday as New Mexico State Police and local law enforcement apprehended three suspects in yet another shooting in the Gallup area.

New Mexico State Police Officers searched Diamond Avenue in Gamerco on Wednesday night after responding to a call of shots fired on Draco Avenue. Wednesday night state police officers were interviewing witnesses in the latest shooting. At 7 a.m. today, there were no reported injures in the incident and no charges had been filed.

Monday Gallup Police responded to a a drive-by shooting and an attempted armed robbery being reported within a few minutes and a couple of blocks of each other.

The attempted armed robbery ended with a suspect in custody. Police said they have a suspect in the drive-by shooting and late Monday secured a warrant for his arrest.
Arrested for the attempted armed robbery Monday was Rodan Wood, 19, of Window Rock. He is accused of attempting to rob Joseph Keane, 28, of Vanderwagen, at gunpoint about 12:45 p.m. as he was walking down Historic Route 66 between Fifth and Sixth streets. Wanted in the drive-by shooting is Jessie Gutierrez, 20, a Gallup resident, who is still at large.
