Gamerco men are arrested after shooting

By Bill Donovan
Staff writer

GALLUP — Two Gamerco residents were arrested late Wednesday for aggravated battery in a brouhaha that involved at various times more than a dozen people.
Arrested were Brian Leonard, 20, and Terrance Lutsie, 21, both of 802 Draco St.

Several sheriff’s deputies, along with two state police officers, responded to a call about 8:41 p.m. Wednesday to a report that an individual, later identified as Leonard, was shooting a handgun toward other individuals and holding the handgun to another man’s head. By the time police arrived, Leonard was no longer at the scene but was later arrested in a car with Lutsie and Natasha Kiro, 21, of Gallup.

Police found out that the ruckus began with an altercation that either Leonard or Lutsie, or possibly both, had with Joseph “Rudy” Trujillo, 19, of Gamerco. Leonard was then seen coming out of his house with a small, silver-colored handgun, which he aimed at his house and started shooting.
He then struck Perry Lutsie, 58, of 800 Draco St., in the face. Trujillo went back into his residence and witnesses then said they saw Leonard strike Perry Lutsie in the head with a rock.

One resident told police that Leonard and Terrance Lutsie then forced their way into her residence, pushing her aside as she held her 6-month-old daughter. Leonard was still holding his gun and was still trying to find Trujillo who at that time was being helped by others escape out of a bedroom window. Once he was out, Trujillo left the area and Leonard got in the vehicle with Terrance Lutsie and Kiro and also left the area.
