James Aubrey

GALLUP — Memorial services for James “Jim” Aubrey will be 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Gallup Golf Course.

Friends and family will be received at 3304 Blue Hill, Mentmore, following services.

Mary Begay

JEDDITO — Gravesite services for Mary K. Begay, 79, will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, in Jeddito. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Jeddito.

Begay died Aug. 20, 2008, in Payson. She was born June 16, 1929, in Keams Canyon, into the Black Streaked Forest People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Begay attended Keams Canyon Boarding School, Fort Apache Indian School, Fort Wingate High School. She was a homemaker, rug weaver, and enjoyed sewing. Begay taught her grandchildren to cook traditional food. She was a traditional woman, believed in NAC and was known for helping others.

Survivors include her sons, Julius Begay, Tully Begay, Delbert Begay, all of Jeddito; daughters, Evelyn Begay of Whippoorwill, Doris Lynch of Vanderwagen, Bernita Begay, Kathleen Begay, both of Jeddito, Orlinda Begay, Geraldine Williams, both of Phoenix; brothers, Johnson Kaye, William Wilson, both of Jeddito; sister, Juanita Archie of Pinon; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Begay was preceded in death by her husband, Ned A. Begay; son, Philbert Begay; father, Hosteen Lizzie Nez; mother; sister, Edith Kaye Nelson; one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be family members.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Dina Hathale

MEXICAN HAT, Ut. — Services are pending for Dina Hathale, 80.

Hathale died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, in Provo, Ut. She was born March 23, 1928, in Mexican Hat.

Desert View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rena Morris

TSE BONITO — Funeral services for Rena R. Morris, 65, was 11 a.m., today, Aug. 22, at the Rehoboth Christian Reformed. The Rev. Armond Martinez officiated. Burial was in Rehoboth Cemetery, Rehoboth.

Morris died Aug. 17, 2008, in Tse Bonito. She was born Dec. 30, 1943, in Rehoboth.

Morris attended Riverside Indian School in Oklahoma and Fort Lewis College. She enjoyed reading, walking, playing with grandchildren, and playing solitaire. She worked 38 years with the Navajo Tribe Legislative Branch.

Survivors include her sons, Brennan A. Morris of Rehoboth, Reid L. Morris of Gallup; daughter, Nadine Briggs of Gallup; mother, Malissa K. Gleason of Window Rock; brother, James Gleason Jr., of Yahtahey; sisters, Marlene Gleason of Gallup, Shirley Gleason of Window Rock; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Morris was preceded in death by Jimmie Gleason Sr., Carol Gleason, Jean Gleason, Ron Gleason; son, Gary Morris, Kyle T. Briggs.

Pallbearers were Reid Morris, Brennon Morris, Richard Gleason, Kenny Briggs, Jimmie Gleason III, Dale Briggs Jr., Calvin Gleason, David Belone.

The family received relatives and friends at 2 p.m., at Rocky View Elementary, Gallup, following services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
