Alaura Toledo

TORREON — Graveside services for Alaura Jean Toledo, 1, will be 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 1, at the Community Cemetery, Torreon. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Torreon.

Toledo died Aug. 27, 2008, in Tuba City. She was born Sept. 14, 2006, in Albuquerque, into the One That Walks Around People Clan for the Red Streak People Clan.

Survivors include her parents, Pertravis J. Toledo, Amber M. Sonny; brother, Airavis Toledo; grandparents, Macdonald Sonny, Tabitha Herrera, Peter Toledo.

Toledo was preceded in death by her grandmother, Evelyn Toledo.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Rose Louie

NASCHITTI — Funeral Mass for Rose Mary Louie, 70, will be 10 a.m., Sept. 2, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tohatchi. John Mittelstadt, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Naschitti Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Sept. 2, Catholic Church, Tohatchi, one hour prior to services.

Louie died Aug. 27, 2008, in Naschitti. She was born Oct. 5, 1937, in Naschitti, into the Near Water People Clan for the Salt People Clan.

Louie attended Intermountain Indian School. She worked at the McKinley Manor or 25 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her hobbies included sewing, crossword puzzles, watching wrestling and wheel of fortune.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Louie; daughters, Barbara Yazzie of Naschitti, Christine Spencer of Spencer Valley, Beverly Louie of Naschitti, Charlene Johle of Naschitti, Cynthia Sandoval of Naschitti; brother, Fred Jones of Gallup; sister, Martha Hayes of Shiprock; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Louie was preceded in death by her son, Alvin Louie; parents, Frank and Rose Ann Jones; brother, Thomas Yazzie; sisters, Imelila Stevens, Nettie Jones.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Jones, Damon Sandoval, Donovan Ellison, Ambrose Sandoval II, Johnathan Johnson, Darrell Louie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Louie’s residence.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
