GALLUP — Funeral Mass for Sally D. Barraza,
75, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3. The Very Reverend Lawrence
O’Keeffe, JCD, will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial
Park. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Visitation will be today, Sept. 2, from 4-6 p.m., at Cope Memorial
Chapel.
Barraza died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, in Gallup.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1933, in Mentmore.
Barraza was a lifelong resident of Gallup. She
was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She had many hobbies and interests, she loved to cook, and enjoyed
playing bingo, fishing, and Betty Boop collectibles.
Survivors include her husband, John Barraza
Sr.; sons; John Barraza Jr. of Gallup, Anthony Barraza of Las
Cruces, Alex Barraza of Gallup, Michael Barraza of Albuquerque;
daughters, Mary Ann Calderon of Bluewater, Cathy Dominguez of
Moriarty; brothers, Joe Delao of Gallup, Sylvestre Delao Jr. of
Gallup; sisters, Mary Martinez of Gallup, Ernestina James of Albuquerque,
Eloisa Sotelo of Gallup; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
Barraza was preceded in death by her parents;
Sylvestre and Cruzita Delao; brothers, George Delao, Lupe Delao,
Louis Delao; sisters, Frances Hunt, Molly Morris.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Barraza Jr., Freddy
Baldenegro, Gabriel Salcido, Erick Barraza, Eric Madrid, David
Calderon, Nico Calderon, Gabe Calderon and Louie Palacios Jr.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Palmer died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2008, in Gallup.
She was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Sheffield, TX.
