Barton died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, in Albuquerque.
She was born July 31, 1959, in Fort Defiance.

Ivy Carson
GALLUP Graveside services for Ivy Ramone
Carson, 77, will be 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 29, at Sunset Memorial
Park. Burial will follow.
Carson died Sept. 23, 2008, in Gallup. She was
born May 3, 1931, in Ramah.
Carson graduated from Gallup High School, became
a homemaker and had four children. Carson loved bowling, playing
cards, crossword puzzles, but most of all she enjoyed being with
family, friends and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Gary B. Carson of
Gallup, Brian K. Carson of Phoenix; daughters, Coleen G. McGuire
of Gallup; brother, Charlie Merrill of Kirtland; sister, Dixie
Tanner of Gallup; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Carson was preceded in death by her husband,
Bernard Carson; son, Kelly Carson; parents, Joe and Waldie Merrill;
brother, Harold Martin; sister, Lois Clark.
Pallbearers will be Brian Carson, Rick Luna,
Ed Kirk, Bill Clark, Charlie Merrill, Ellis Tanner.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at Gallup Elks Lodge, following services.

David Elkins
GALLUP
Services are pending for David Phil Elkins, 72.
Elkins died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, in Gallup.
He was born May 17, 1936, in Prewitt.

Johnnie Graham
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. Evangelist Johnnie
L. Graham, 65, died Sept. 26, 2008, in Tulare, Calif. He was born
Dec. 19, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minn.
Graham traveled all over many Indian Reservations,
(Navajo, Apache, Ute, which include tribes in Montana, Washington,
Canada and more), preaching and spreading the gospel. He was raised
in the church and accompanied his parents on many of their missionary
trips. He attended and graduated from Miracle Valley, Ariz. He
was a member of the House of Love Church in Tulare, Calif., and
was the organ player for a while at Living Christ Church, also
in Tulare.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; children,
Jody, Johnnie Jr., Timmy, Tyrice, Julia, Bernadette, Amanda, Donna,
Tracy; brothers, Reverend Jonathan of Miami, Harold, Samuel, both
of Minneapolis; sisters, Sandra Kay of Los Angeles, Joyce of Minneapolis,
Joann of Des Moine, IA; six grandchildren.
Graham was preceded in death by his parents,
Jesse and Annie Graham; brothers, Jesse Jr., Erle Graham, Jackie
Graham; sister, Loris Jean.

Ella Sleuth
NASCHITTI Funeral Mass for Ella Nez Sleuth,
81, will be 10 a.m., Sept. 29, at St. Marys Catholic Church,
Tohatchi. The Rev. Robert Ross, S.J., will officiate. Burial will
be in Naschitti Community Cemetery, Naschitti. A rosary will be
recited 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 28, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Sleuth died Sept. 24, 2008, in Albuquerque.
She was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Naschitti, into the Saltwater People
Clan for the Red Running Water People Clan.
Sleuth was a homemaker, rancher/farmer and a
rug weaver. She was active in her community and the Catholic Church.
She was a school board member for many years. Sleuth was a member
of the NAC and also specialized in natural herbs. Her hobbies
included puzzles, going to bingo and listening to Dolly Parton.
Survivors include her sons, Benny Charley of Naschitti, Ben Sleuth
of Albuquerque, Herbert Sleuth of Albuquerque, Davis Sleuth of
Albuquerque, Robert Sleuth of Albuquerque; daughters, Ella Rena
Sam of Coyote Canyon, Jeannie Yazzie of Naschitti, Genevieve Sleuth
of Albuquerque, Emma Sleuth-Atencio of Albuquerque, Teresa Sleuth
of Albuquerque; brothers, Clement Nez of Naschitti, Peter Nex
of Tohatchi; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
Sleuth was preceded in death by her husband,
David Sleuth; sister, Lorena Nez; father, Navajo Nez; mother,
Mary Nez.
Pallbearers will be Toby Charley, Terry Charley,
Tim Charley, Roland Sam, Jerome Yazzie, Sherman Sleuth.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at the Ella Nez Sleuth residence in Naschitti, following services.
