Fall Carnival

REHOBOTH — The music department at Rehoboth Christian School is sponsoring its annual Fall Carnival, with games and prizes from 4-8 p.m., Oct. 3, at the Keith Kuipers Gym. A Navajo Taco Dinner will be from 5-7 p.m., in the fellowship hall. Both events are open to public.

Free Meals

GALLUP — The Gallup McKinley County Schools Food Services would like to inform the following learning communities, that they will be added to the Provision II meal program for the school year 2008-2009. This will allow students of these schools to eat free, regardless of meal pricing (free, reduced, or full price) category. Chee Dodge Elementary; Churchrock Academy; Crownpoint Elementary; David Skeet Elementary; Juan De Onate Elementary; Navajo Middle School; Rocky View Elementary; Stagecoach Elementary; Thoreau Elementary; Tse’ Yi’ Gai High School; Turpen Elementary. Provision II means that all students eat free. Gallup Central High, Navajo Elementary, and Twin Lakes already participate in the program. Questions call 505-721-1123.

Conservation program

GALLUP — The Gallup Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) is accepting applications for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). EQIP is a voluntary program that provides cost-sharing assistance for conservation improvements to individuals and entities with working farms and ranches within McKinley County. To be considered for FY 2009 funding, applications must be in by Oct. 17. More info call Gallup NRCS field office 505-722-4357 ext. 101.

Activity Buses

GALLUP — Miyamura High will start the evening activity bus runs for students who stay after school for tutoring, activities, and athletics. Three buses will be running to the rural areas of HMH attendance area. The buses will leave HMH at 6:20 p.m., and stop at the following sites: South: Public Health Hospital; Continental Divide Electric; Red Rock Chapter House; Blue Medicine Well Bridge; Gas Man; David Skeets Elementary; Joe Milos; Johnny Murphys; Bronco Road. East: Rocky View Elementary; Indian Hills Elementary; Sundance Coal Mine Road; Turtle Butte; Wingate Store; Whispering Cedar Fire Dept.; Iyanbito Chapter. Northeast: Churchrock Elementary; Red Rock State Park; Tabernacle T/A; Mustang; Red Water Pond; 1st Canyon; 2nd Canyon; Pindale Chapter; Timber Ridge; Fallen Maple.
