Fall Conference

GALLUP — Fall conference will be 6 p.m., Oct. 17, and 12:30 p.m., Oct. 18, at the Broken Arrow Bible Ranch. Fee is $20. Basketball, hiking, campfire, games and speakers.

Foster/Adopt

GALLUP — Make a difference in the life of a child by becoming their foster or adoptive parent. Learn more about how you can help a foster child. An orientation meeting will be 5:30-7 p.m., Oct. 21, at the Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) office on 1720 E. Aztec, Gallup. Seeking Veterans

State Cleanup

GALLUP — Keep New Mexico Beautiful, Inc. with the support of a PNM Resources Foundation grant is taking the official state cleanup mascot, Dusty Roadrunner, on the road to present a program about environmental stewardship. Dusty will be visiting Ms. Donley’s 4th grade at Juan De Onate Elementary on Oct. 17, to conduct a waste audit with students.

BAAHAALI — Community Land Use Planning Committee will meeting 10 a.m., Oct. 17, at the Baahaali Chapter.

Manage by Numbers

GALLUP — UNM-G Small Business Development Center is sponsoring a “Managing by the Numbers” class 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Oct. 22, at the Chamber of Commerce Code Talkers Room, 103 West Hwy. 66. $40 fee- includes a book. Most small business owners take their accounting reports and look at the bottom line, but have little understanding of what the other numbers really mean. Or, if they do know what they mean, may not be utilizing the numbers to make smart decisions for their business. Class limited to 11 participants.
