Jonah Deschine

WHEATFIELDS — Funeral services for Jonah Deschine, 87, will be 11 a.m., Oct. 24, at the Jordan River Church of God, Wheatfields. Burial will be in Lukachukai. Visitation will be 10 a.m., at the Jordan River Church of God.

Deschine died Oct. 21, 2008, in Gallup. He was born June 28, 1921, in Wheatfields.

Deschine was a rancher, railroad and construction worker. Most of his life he was a rancher, and family man. He enjoyed his great-grandchildren, and spending time with his wife.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Deschine; daughters, Elouise Natonabah, Sarah Deschine, Daisy Deschine; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Deschine was preceded in death by his parents, Keeto Deschine, Ashaa Lichee Deschine; siblings, Jimmy Deschine, Addie Sarracino.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Wilson, Nathaniel Natonabah, Cornell Benally, Darrell Benally, Michael Hoolihan, Timothy Benally, Jerold King, Thomas Young.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Jordan River Church of God, following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
