Kathryn Baca
ISPHPEMING, Mich. Memorial services for
Kathryn Helen Baca, 68, will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, at
the Light House Intl, 808 W. Hwy. 66, Gallup. The Rev. Greg
Johnson will officiate.
Baca died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, in Marquette,
Mich. She was born Dec. 26, 1939, in Ishpeming.
Baca was a guidance counselor with Gallup McKinley County Schools,
where she resided 30 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Kris Thomason,
Elizabeth Thomason of Gallup, Maria Helena Kramer of Negaunee,
Mich.; sister, Mary Ann MacDonald; seven grandchildren.
Baca was preceded in death by her son and parents.
Betty Canning
GALLUP Services for Betty T. Canning,
49, will be 9 a.m., Oct. 25, at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints Church, Gallup. Bishop Mowrer will officiate. Burial will
be in Rehoboth Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-9:45 a.m., Oct.
25.
Canning died Oct. 20, 2008, in Gallup. She was
born April, 29, 1959, in Crownpoint, into the Folded Arms People
Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Canning;
son, James Lapaz Jr.; daughters, Trisha Lapaz, Amanda Lapaz, Stephanie
Lapaz; mother, Mabel Thompson; brothers, Tommy Thompson, Peter
Thompson, Leo Thompson; sisters, Anita Brown, Louise Thompson,
Eileen Sage; four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Canning, James Lapaz
Jr., Leo Thompson, Noel Johnson, Daniel Thomas Jr., David Kimsel.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at LDS Church, Gallup, following services.

Dorothy Taylor
GRANTS Funeral services for Dorothy B.
Taylor, 91, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Immanuel
Baptist Church. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. The Rev.
Garland Moore will officiate. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m., tonight,
Oct. 24, at Compassion Mortuary.
Taylor died Oct. 23, 2008, in Grants. She was
born May 19, 1917, in North Wilkesboro, N.C.
Survivors include her children, Larry Taylor
of Grants, Carol Baca of San Antonio, Texas., Nancy Torrez of
Grants, Judy Canaba of Grants, Mary Taylor of Santa Fe, Jack Taylor
of Reno, Nev., Steve Taylor of Winnemucca, Nev.; 15 grandchildren;
23 great-grandchildren.
Taylor was preceded in death by her parents,
Arthur Shumate, Eiizabeth Rhodes Shumate; brothers, Larry Shumate,
Iva Shumate, Burn Shumate, Erenest Shumate.
Pallbearers will be David Taylor, Shaun Taylor,
Duane Taylor, Tony Canaba, Jimmy Dodrill, Keith Taylor, Matthew
Taylor.

Kathleen Wilson
GALLUP Graveside services for Kathleen
McIntosh Wilson, 89, will be 10 a.m., Oct. 25, at the Sunset Memorial
Park, Gallup. The Rev. Layloni Drake will officiate. Burial will
be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup.
Wilson died Oct. 19, 2008, in Gallup. She was
born June 25, 1919, in Mercer County, Mo.
Wilson attended Mercer County Schools. She moved
to Gallup in 1937, as a Harvey Girl with the Fred
Harvey Hotel Chain, and later was employed at the El Rancho Hotel.
She married Norman Wilson of Gallup in 1940. Wilson was a member
of First United Methodist Church, Naomi-Rebecca Circle, RMCHCS
Auxillary, Ford Canyon Senior Center and R.S.V.P.
Survivors include her son, Michael Wilson of
Gallup; daughters, Patricia Lewis of Gallup, Janet Roubidoux of
Albuquerque; brothers, Max McIntosh of Princeton, Mo., Arlan McIntosh
of Bonham, Texas., Lee McIntosh of Wichita, Texas.; sister, Mary
M. McGrory of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
one great-great-grandchild.
Wilson was preceded in death by her husband,
Norman Wilson; parents, Gerald and Merle McIntosh; six brothers;
3 sisters.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at Wilsons residence, Gallup, following services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to RMCHCS Hospice or
First United Methodist Church.
