Laguna-Acoma High School honors students

LAGUNA — Laguna-Acoma Middle and High School students who finished the first nine-week session of the school year with a B average or better received honors in a series of assemblies at the school Thursday.

The assemblies, which started at 8:30 with middle schoolers, gave a half-hour to each class level to present awards for outstanding academic work. Each student honored received an award certificate from the school and prizes from community supporters.

Straight A senior students Amanda Pedro, with a 4.125 grade point average, and Nicole Luna, with a 4.0, received an honor’s hall pass that granted special hall privileges, dinner at Petro’s Iron Skillet Restaurant and luncheon at the Dancing Eagle Casino restaurant.

B-plus senior students with a 3.5 or better average received dinner at Iron Skillet and the honors hall pass. Colton Baca, Rudi Lomahaitewa, Reuben Luther, Lois Marmon, Aldofo Montano, Miranda Talehaftewa, and Bobbi Jo Touchin received the these rewards.

Senior students with between 3.0 and 3.5 grade point averages — Elizabeth Antonio, Bemjamin Aragon, Xavier Cheromiah, Mikila Crespin, Trystyn Garcia, Isaac Herrera, Ronnie Lorenzo, Amber Lucero, Brittany Lucero, Alexandrea Pino, Tyler Pino, Allyssa Sarracino, Benjamin Tsoi, and Roy Victorino — received certificates for dinner at Iron Skillet.

Junior students receive the same awards, with only Justin Gallegos in the 4.0 category. Junior students with between a 3.5 and 4.0 include Brianne Chavez, Patrick Concho, Chelsea Crespin, Kelino Encino, Isaiah Holmes, Corey Johnson, Mallory Johnson, Kevin Lucero, Kiel Marmon, Tiffany Tafoya and Michael Talahaftewa. Juniors receiving honor for GPAs between 3.0 and 3.5 include: Lorenzo Abeita, Ethan Antonio, Aubriana Ashley, Denise Cheresposy, Michelle Jaramillo, Desirae Lucero, Marina Pasquale, and Joey Weeker.

Sophomores receiving honors were Calyssa Cerno for a 4.0 average; Christopher Amie, TJ Alonso, Haley Bautista, Denyse Carr, Isaiah Cheromiah, Iris Lucerio, Chad Lucero, Martin Molina, Kyle Pack, Jacques Michael Ray II, Chelsey Sarracino, Kyleen Shroulote, Kyle Swimmer and John Zabzdyr for grades between 3.5 and 4.0; and Kailyn Antonio, Lily Arite, Paige Arkie, Kevin Cheresposy, Clifford Douma, Joseph Fernando, Nathesha Gregory, Ian Lewis, Vincent Martin, Jonathan Martinez and Aubrey Sarracino for an average between 3.0 and 3.5.

Freshman Louis Leonen receive the honors and rewards for maintaining a 4.0 or better average. Freshman students with a 3.5 or better average were: Jordan Antonio, Loreina Chavez, Felicia Estevan, Nicole Jojola, Shelby Keryte, Thomas Silva, and Lorrain Toya. Freshmen Felicia Abeita, Benjamin Bautista, Christopher Henderson, Melissa Jaramillo, Kelly Lewis, Teresa Lockwood, Wacey Natseway, Anthony Saavedra II, Kyle Saavedra and Rhonda Smith got the honors and dinner for grade averages between 3.0 and 3.5.

The middle school was represented by 4.0 student Leeyan Racca; 3.5 or better students Paul Dore, Kayella Hicks, and Dylan Lowden; and 3.0 or better students Jamiee Vicente, Donovan Bland, Baylor Juanico, Lyles Leonen, Lacey Nateseway, Selena Saavedra, Natalie Yoyhoeoma and Nicole Zabzdyr.
