Arts crawl offers new venues, capped by music

GALLUP — The following galleries and businesses will host November Arts Crawl events on Saturday. Unless otherwise noted, the events will run from 7 to 9 p.m.

  • Makeshift Gallery, 213 W. Coal Ave., will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m. “Planet Mar’s,” a vintage clothing shop, is now open inside Makeshift Gallery. In addition, the gallery will feature pottery and jewelry by Angie Klesert and artwork by gallery members.

  • Coffee House Gallery, 203 W. Coal Ave., is exhibiting “In the Not So Still of the Night ... ,” gouache and acrylic paintings by Rossi Bright.

  • Michael’s Studio, 123 W. Coal Ave., is now in its new corner location. The studio is showing “Viriditas,” digital photography by Amy Bertolaccini, fine contemporary jewelry by Michael Schmaltz and Leaf Ashley, and contemporary bead jewelry by Frances Martinez and Raven Bright.

  • Native Hands Co-op, 506 W. Highway 66 inside the Catholic Indian Center, will host “Primal Colors,” a mixed media show of modern Native American art by Stephen V. Athens.

  • The Open Studio, 211-213 W. Coal (back entrance), continues to show new paintings by Jay Dickens, Arnold Nelson, and Floyd Nelson.

Cap off your Arts Crawl experience Saturday with some live music at the Coal Street Pub. Entertainment will be provided by the Mother Road String Band, featuring roots music at its best, starting at 7 p.m.
