Deaths

 

Robert Noe

GALLUP – Services for Robert C. Noe, 82, will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13 at the Church of the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Gallup. Rev. Lynne and Roger Perkins, Co-victars, will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

Viisitation will be from noon to 7:30 p.m. today, Feb. 12 at Rollie Mortuary.

Noe died Feb. 11 in Gallup. He was born July 6, 1925 in San Diego.

After graduating from Gallup High, Noe graduated with an engineering degree from UNM. He was member of 20/30, a life member of Elks BPOE 1330, Department Head of the City of Gallup Electric Department for 30 years. He served on the city council and was active in the Gallup Historical Society. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and a supporter and volunteer of the Little Sisters of the Poor since its opening.

Survivors include his wife Sally of Gallup; sons William Dean “Bill” of Gallup, Tomas C. “Tom” of Albuquerque; daughter Katharine Merry of Belen; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Clark “Pappy” Noe and Katherine “Katie” Winders Noe.

Pallbearers will be Tom Duckett, Thomas Hall, David Lebeck, Perry Null, James Seay and Billy Wyatt.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Church of the Holy Spirit after services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Richard Moore

BLUEWATER – Services for Richard L. Moore, 86 will be announced at a later date.

Moore died Feb. 8, 2008. He was born on July 18,1921 in Trenton, N.J.


Rachel Griego 

GALLUP – Services for Rachel Griego, 85, will be announced at a later date.

Griego died Feb. 9, 2008 in Gallup. She was born April 5, 1922 in Gallup.


Marclin McCray

GANADO – Services of Marclin Gill McCray, 34, will be at 10 a.m., today, Feb. 11, 2008 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church in Gallup. Keith Bulthius will officiate. Burial will follow at Rehoboth Mission Cemetery.

McCray died Feb. 2, 2008 in Gallup. He was born Feb. 22, 1973 in Tuba City, Ariz., into the One Who Walks Around People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

McCray was a carpenter and a jewelry inlayer. He enjoyed bowling, snowboarding, horseback riding and riding ATVs.

Survivors include his wife Sylvia Edgewater-McCray; son Shawndiin Marcolyn McCray; daugher Nizhoni Shenoah McCray; parents Billy and Pam McCray; brothers Joshua McCray, Marlon McCray; sister Dianne Miller; grandparents Irene Arviso and Evelyn Burton.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert McCray, Jim Arviso and Stella Begay.

Pallbearers will be Samual Edgewater, Gregory Edgewater, Billy McCray, Joshua McCray, Lionel Baldrin, Gabriel McCray and Justin Thomas.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Bethany Christian Reformed Church after services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Mabel Grey

GALLUP – Services for Mabel R. Grey, 97, will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 at the Crownpoint Christian Reformed Church. Burial will follow on private family land in the Crownpoint area. Ray Slim will officiate.

Grey died Feb. 5, 2008 in Gallup, She was born Nov. 24, 1910 in Crownpoint.

Survivors include her son Charlie Grey, Jr., of Gallup; daughter Mary Manning of Crownpoint, 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Grey Sr.; parents Tachini Bitsui and Mary Becenti; daughters Opal Manning and Loria Toledo.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.


Katherine Singer

KAYENTA – Services for Katherine B. Singer, 90, will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12 at Norvel-Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Veterans section of the Flagstaff Citizens Cemetery.

Singer died February 8, 2008 in Kayenta. She was born June 16, 1917 in Cow Springs, Ariz., into the One Who Walks Around People) clan, born for Bitter Water People clan.

Singer attended school at Tuba City Boarding School and Ganado Mission School . She graduated from Ganado Nursing School in 1942. She was a registered nurse and worked throughout most of the PHS hospitals and clinics on the Navajo Reservation.  She also worked in several hospitals off the reservation. After 30 years of medical service she retired and lived in Kayenta.  She continued to work after her retirement as she contributed to the John Hopkins Research Program.

She loved to teach people across the Navajo Reservation about health care, nutrition, and preventative care. She was a midwife and helped deliver many infants.

Survivors include her son, Richard B. Singer of Denver, daughters: Sharine Sonny of Flagstaff, Regina Singer of Denver, Karen Garcia of Tuba City, Beverly Thomas of Kayenta, Arloa Singer of Kayenta, Patricia Osif of Kayenta, and Dawny Singer. She had 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Katherine Singer was preceded in death by her father Jim Boone, mother Tabaah Yaziaife, adopted mother Maggie Boone, brother Dan Manyturquoise, sister Lillian Harris, husband Richard B. Singer Sr., and son Ritchie Singer.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Flagstaff Church of Christ, 2203 N. East in Flagstaff, following services.
