Antonia Vasquez

GALLUP — A rosary for Antonia G. Vasquez, 84, will be recited 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7 at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel.

Vasquez died Dec. 4, 2008, in Grants. She was born July 10, 1923, in San Juntio, Mexico.

Vasquez enjoyed cooking and soap operas. She loved to spend time with family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Ramon Gomez Cardona; daughter, Rosario G. Newson; sisters, Beatris, Verta, Paula, Lupe; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

Vasquez was preceded in death by her husband, Pete O’ Vasquez; motherm Maria Russell.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 1615 S. Grandview, Gallup.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Jerry Jackson

FORT DEFIANCE — Services for Jerry Ahek Jackson, 41, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7 at the Good Shepard Mission, Fort Defiance. Rev. Red Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Defiance Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Dec. 7.

Jackson died Dec. 2, 2008, in Sanders. He was born Aug. 4, 1966, in Rehoboth into the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Jackson attended Window Rock Elementary, Tsehotso Middle School and graduated from Window Rock High School. He then attended Mountain State Tech. Institute in Phoenix. He worked at numerous construction and abatement companies as a supervisor.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Jackson; sons, Gabriel of Phoenix, Jeremy Jackson of Sanders, Brandon Jackson of Sanders, Joshua Jackson of Sanders; daughter, Briana Jackson of Aberdeen, Md.; parent, Thomas Jackson of Chinle; brothers, Ervin Jackson Sr. of Fort Defiance, Melvin Jackson Sr. of Fort Defiance, Kat Jackson of Fort Defiance.

Jackson was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Jackson; grandparents, James Sr. and Rose C. Wauneka, John Manymules and Louise T. Begay.

Pallbearers will be Melvin Jackson Sr., Larry Allison, Paul Shaw Jr., Melvin Jackson Jr., Ervin Jackson Jr., and Jason Allison.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Good Shepard Mission Thorne Building after services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Anna Tillman

GRANTS — Memorial services for Anna Tillman, 76, will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at the First Baptist Church of Grants.

Tillman died Jan. 4, 2008. She was born June 6, 1931.

Survivors include her sons, Jack Elkins II, Dick Elkins; daughter, Bonnie Chavda;brother, Larry Leache; nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anna Gwyn Memorial Fund of the National Multiple Society or to the mission outreaches of First Baptist Church and Central Baptist Church of Grants.


Donna Vandever

PREWITT — Services for Donna Vandever, 67, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the home of Angela Begay in Prewitt. Pastor Tim Shepard will officiate. Burial will in Grants Memorial Park.
Vandever died Dec. 31, 2007, in Albuquerque. She was born Feb. 10, 1941.

Vandever was a homemaker and a silversmith.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Vandever of Prewitt; son, Jeremy Vandever of Prewitt; daughters, Verna Kee of Albuquerque, Cindy Howe of Prewitt, Sheila Vandever of Prewitt, Cassandra Calladitto of Prewitt, Sharon Vandever of Prewitt; brother, Sampson Kee of Bluewater Village; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Vandever was preceded in death by her parents, John Kee and Alice Greyhat Kee; sons, Sherwood Vandever, Jerome Vandever; sister, Mary Largo, Nellie Kee-Largo; brothers, Harrison Kee and Edward Kee.

Pallbearers will be Larry Howe, Henry Calladitto, Patrick Mann, Larry Etsitty Sr., Larry Etsitty Jr., Calvin Toledo Sr., Myles Calladitto and Jonathan Nelson.
