Harry Larry Sr.
THOREAU Services for Harry Larry Sr., 70, will be 10 a.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 6 at the First Baptist Church. Pastor Bob Brittan
will officiate. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery, Thoreau.
Larry died Jan. 3, 2008 in Gallup. He was born June 29, 1937
in Thoreau into the Water Flows Together People Clan for the Two
Who Came to the Water People Clan.
Larry attended Thoreau Boarding School and Chemawa Indian School.
He worked for Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant and WWC Inc. and
Corley Ford. His hobbies included horseback riding, outdoor activities
and mechanical work.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Larry of Thoreau; sons, Harry
Larry Jr. of Henderson, Terry Larry of Thoreau, Randy Larry of
Las Cruces and Gary Larry of Milan; brothers, Ernest Larry, Ervin
Larry both of Thoreau; sisters, Lorraine Rangle, Irene Shorty,
Alice M. Larry, Ellen Pablo, Hazel Kenneth, all of Thoreau.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, John Lewis and Rita
Larry; sister, Helen Charley; brother, Archie Larry.
Pallbearers will be Terry Larry, Harry Larry Jr., Wilbert Shelley,
Eric Yazzie, Edward Amador, Orlando Shelley.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Thoreau Chapter
House after services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Francis Milford
FORT DEFIANCE Service for Francis Raymond Milford, 71,
will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament,
Fort Defiance. Sister Mary will officiate. Burial will be in Veterans
Memorial Cemetery, Fort Defiance. Visitation will be one hour
prior to service at 9 a.m. A rosary will be at Silver Creek Mortuary,
today, Jan. 7 at 6 p.m.
Milford died Jan. 2, 2008 in Window Rock. He was born Nov. 21,
1936 in Fort Defiance into the Red Running into Water People Clan
for the Edge Water People Clan.
Milford attended Sherman Institute, Riverside, Calif. He worked
with the Navajo Nation, PNM Coal mine, was a general contractor:
welder and carpenter. His hobbies included riding horses, and
sheep herding.
Survivors include his wife, Annie J. Milford; son, Bruce Milford;
sisters, Mary Benally, Helena Tsabetsaye; three grandchildren.
Milford was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Gamble;
father, Shay Milford; brothers, Leo, Elliot, Peter, Lee, William,
Lewis MIlford; sister, Bessie Silversmith.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Tsebetsaye, Justin Curley Jr., Gary
Lewis, Abel Thompson Sr., James Milford Jr., and Bertram Milford.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Fort Defiance
Chapter House after services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Herbert Yazzie
LUPTON Funeral services for Herbert Henry Yazzie, 59,
will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Rollie Mortuary, Gallup. Pastor
Delbert Brown will officiate. Private disposition will be in the
family plot, Lupton.
Yazzie died Jan. 3, 2008 in Fort Defiance. He was born Jan. 1,
1949 in Fort Defiance into the Black Sheep People Clan for the
Bitter Water People Clan.
Yazzie was a lifelong resident of Lupton. He graduated from Holbrook
High School in 1970. Yazzie was a grazing official for Lupton
Chapter, a silversmith, rancher and was a bus driver for Sanders
Unified School.
Survivors included sons, Henry Yazzie of Cow Springs, Olsen Yazzie
of Lupton; daughters, Rechanda Barnett of Kansas City, Kan., Rachel
Thomas of Lupton, Chelsea Yazzie of Oak Spring, Ariz.; brothers,
Allen Yazzie, Leghi Yazzie, both of Lupton; sisters, Helen Begay
of Lupton, Helena Chee of Oak Springs, Jean Kimble of Basin, Wyo.,
Elizabeth Yazzie of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren.
Yazzie was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Yazzie and
Grace Begay; sister, Alice Jim; brother, Paul Yazzie.
Pallbearers will be Leghi Yazzie, Gilbert Bennett, Calvin Toddy,
Artemis Yazzie, Lawrence Bennett.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Laura Skeets
RIO RANCHO Services for Laura B. Skeets, 81, will be 11
a.m., Monday, Jan. 11 at the Fellowship Christian Reformed Church,
Albuquerque. Burial will be in Rio Rancho.
Skeets died Jan. 2, 2008 in Rio Rancho. She was born Oct. 21,
1926 in Zuni into the Salt Water People Clan for the Black Streak
People Clan.
Skeets was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband, Emerson Skeets; sons, Eddie Skeets,
Edward Skeets, Roy Skeets, James Skeets, Andrew Skeets; daughters,
Marie Skeets, Laurien Skeets, Irene Skeets, Martha Skeets, Sandra
Skeets; sisters, Rose Elliot, Rena Skeets, Helen Yazzie.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Skeets, Eward Skeets, Steven Skeets,
Roy Skeets, Joseph Skeets, and David Skeets.
