David Ward

ESPANOLA —Memorial services for David Merle Ward, 80, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at the First Baptist Church, Espanola. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe.

Ward died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, in Espanola. He was born in 1928, in Braman, Okla.

Ward was a New Mexico resident for over 50 years. He was a well known radio voice in Gallup, Farmington and Santa Fe. Ward and his wife have lived in Espanola for 27 years where he operated his advertising business and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1946-1950. He attended Kansas State University.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; sons, Terry Ward of Houston, Russell Ward of Silver City, David C. Ward of Albuquerque; daughter, Melody Springer of Rio Rancho; brothers, Albert Ward of Whitewater, KS, Bob Ward of Rosalia, KS, Otis Ward of Dixon, IL. sisters, Dorothy Neil of Eugene, OR, Helen Schumacher of Bourbon, MO.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers,  donations may be made to a hospice care facility of your choosing.
