Deaths

Bruce Tso Sr.

HUNTERS POINT — Funeral services for Bruce Hosteen Tso Sr., 86, will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 24, at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Fr. Ron Walters, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michaels Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Tso died March 19, 2008, in Winslow. He was born March 19, 1922, in Hunters Point, into the Harry Ones People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.

Tso attended St. Michaels Indian School St. Catherine’s Indian School. He was an official for St. Michaels Chapter and a disabled vet of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Neilie Lee Tso; sons, James Tso, Bruce Tso Jr., Ernest Tso, all of Hunters Point; daughter, Esther Tso-Rohrer of Pinetop; sisters, Marian Upshaw of Gallup, Katherine Tso of Hunters Point, Marie Tso Allen of Fort Defiance; 12 grandchildren.

Tso was preceded in death by his parents, Hosteen Tso, Martha Yazzie; brother, Frances Tso.

Tse Bonito is in charge of arrangements.

Alice Billie

FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Alice Billie, 80, will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, at the Good Shepard Mission, Fort Defiance. Burial will be in the community cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. March 24.

Billie died March 19, 2008, in Flagstaff. She was born Jan. 1, 1928, in Slick Rock, N.M., into the Mud People Clan for the Salt People Clan.

Billie was a homemaker, enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and was a weaver. Billie cared for her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Billie Sr.; sons, Herman Billie, Ernie Billie, Henry Billie Jr., Norman Billie, Patrick Billie; daughters, Elsie John, Elouise Mego, Carmelita Francis, Paula Henson, Loretta Billie-Encinas; 38 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Billie was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie Dugalechee; father, Tom Dugalechee; sisters, Ella Mae Billie, Dorothy Frances.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. .

Hazel Wilderson

GALLUP — Services for Hazel Bell Wilderson, 94, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the First Baptist Church, Dolores, Colo. Burial will be at the Summit Ridge Cemetery, Dolores, Colo. Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at the First Baptist Church, Dolores, Colo.

Wilderson died March 19, 2008, in Gallup. She was born April 27, 1913, in the McGaffey area.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Campbell of Gallup; son, Charles Wilderson of Kansas; brother, Clyde Holliday of John Day, Ore.; sister, Opal Adair of Milton Freewater, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Wilderson was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Wilderson; daughter, Hazel Medlin; parents, Nickless and Ida Florence Holliday.

Pallbearers will be Ray Medlin, Guy Naron, Josh Naron, Robin Wilderson, David Wilderson, and Steven Wilderson.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the RMCH Hospice, 1901 Redrock Drive, Gallup, N.M. 87301 of the Shriners Childrens Hospital, 1275 Fairfax Road, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Harry John

RED ROCK — Funeral services for Harry John, 90, will be 10 a.m. March 24, at the Red Rock Church of God.

John died March 17, 2008, in Gallup. He was born March 15, 1918, in Red Rock, into the Black Streak Wood People Clan for the Red Running into the Water People Clan.

John was a retired maintenance person for various local businesses. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad and was also a retired pastor and helped many people through his prayers and words of wisdom throughout the area. John was on the school and health board for many years. He was given many awards for his participation on the school board.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn John of Red Rock; sons, Tom Harry John of Manuelito; Jerry John of To’hajiilee; daughters, Nellie Spencer of Denver; Amanda Romero of Wheatfridge, Colo.; Bea Johns of Phoenix; sisters, Helen Plummer of Red Rock; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by one daughter; two sons; one sister; two brothers.

Pallbearers will be Andre Toledo, Marcus Barney, Derrick James, Tilden John, Marland Barney, and Jason Spencer.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Red Rock Chapter House, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
