VANDERWAGEN – Services for Joe Francis,
88, will be at 10 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2008 at Rollie Mortuary
Palm Chapel in Gallup.
Francis died March 25, 2008 in Gallup.
He was born Dec. 10, 1919 in Lake Springs, N.M.
The family will receive relatives and
friends at 126 Skeets Rd., Vanderwagen after services.
CHINLE – Services for Leo P. Thomas,
79, were at 11 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima
Church in Chinle. Burial followed on family land in Chinle. Visitation
was at 10 a.m., one hour prior to services at the church.
Thomas died March 23, 2008 in Chandler,
Ariz. He was born July 14, 1928 in Shiprock into the Red Running
Into the Water People Clan for the Tangle People Clan.
Thomas worked for BIA in property and supply, rare metals and
NTUA in Tuba City for 36 years. He also worked for the uranium
mines in Arizona, Colorado and Utah off and on during the summer.
He enjoyed football, basketball, baseball, softball and coaching.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie Williams
Thomas; sons Vincent Thomas, LeVon Thomas Sr., Leon Thomas, LaVor
Thomas, Loren Thomas Sr.; daughters Betty L. Tsinnie, Leone Thomas,
Leah King; ; 24 grandchildren, 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents
Tom and Elouise Puggy; brothers Sam, Johnny, Louis, Peter,; sisters
Louise, Martha, Mary, Lucy
Pallbearers were Vincent Thomas, LeVon
Thomas Sr., Leon Thomas, LaVor Thomas, Loren Thomas Sr., andAlfred
Thomas.
The family received relatives and friends
at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Hall after services.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
