Spa Day

GALLUP — UNM-Gallup cosmetology department is having a spa day 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. May 9, in Gurley Hall. Offering manicures/pedicures, facials, and haircuts for $5 each. Proceeds will go to a 15-month old child in need of corrective heart surgery. More info call 863-7561.

Equine Expo

WINDOW ROCK — The latest information on equine health care, including nutrition, dentistry and hoof maintenance for horses, will be among the topics at the Second Annual Navajo Nation Equine Expo, May 9-10, at the Window Rock Fairgroundd-4-H Pavilion. Food Drive

GALLUP — Food drive for the Community Pantry will be May 9. The food drive is carried out with the help from the letter carriers of the U.S. Postal service. Food supply is very low. The need for emergency assistance mounts as families struggle to meet increased heating costs and other cold-weather challenges in this holiday season. All items should be non perishable, unopened and within the expiration date. Items especially needed are peanut butter, flour, sugar, canned meat, canned vegetables, canned entrees, macaroni and cheese, rice, dried pinto beans, cooking oil, canned fruit, pasta and sauces, baby food, boxed meals, and soups. Monetary donations may be sent to the Community Pantry at PO Box 520, Gallup.
