Alice Boyce

IRVING, Texas — Memorial services for Alice A. Boyce, 71, were Feb. 15, 2009, at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home.

Boyce died Jan. 18, 2009,in Irving, Texas. She was born April 1, 1937, in Gallup.

Boyce retired from Kodak in 2002 after 25 years of service.

Survivors include her sons, Craig Boyce of Austin, Chris Boyce of Arlington; sisters, Maryanne Barnes of Denver, Colo., Lucinda Horn of Strang, Okla.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society.

Tina Gomez

GALLUP — Memorial services for Tina C. Gomez, 74, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 18, at “El Buen Pastor” Baptist Church, Gallup. Fernando Martinez will officiate. Private disposition will be in Sunset Cemetery, Gallup.

Gomez died April 6, 2009, in Gallup. She was born May 29, 1934, in Post, Texas.

Gomez attended elementary school in Post, Texas. She got her CDA by Correspondence from Arizona University. She was a head teacher at Gallup Neighborhood Center for 10 years. She was a Pastor wife and member of the “El Buen Pastor” Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Luis Gomez; sons, Luis Gomez Jr.; brothers, Hermilo Martinez of Lubbock, Texas, Roy Martinez, Fernando Martinez of Phoenix; sister, Cristina Velazquez of Hobbs; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Gomez was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria Gomez; brothers, Bonifacio Castro, Paul Castro, Luis Castro, Felix Castro.

The family will receive relatives and friends at “El Buen Pastor” Baptist Church, 610 N. 4th, Gallup, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Ann Shirley

DEER SPRINGS — Services are pending for Ann Shirley, 94.

Shirley died Thursday, April 16, 2009, in Gallup.

She was born Feb. 27, 1915, in Deer Springs, into the Honey Comb Rock People Clan for the One Who Walks Around People Clan.

A gathering for friends and relatives will be 6 p.m., tonight, April 17, at Sawmill Catholic Hall, Sawmill.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Leta Wilson

AMARILLO, Texas — Services for Leta Faye B. Wilson, 75, will be 2 p.m., today, April 17, in Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Randall Ator will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Wilson died April 14, 2009, in Amarillo, Texas. She was born Aug. 14, 1933, in Floydada, Texas.

Wilson, formerly of Grants, recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She worked at various fabric stores in Grants and retired from Clothworld Inc. in Amarillo. She collected fabric, hummingbirds, butterflies and music boxes. Wilson loved to share the gift of sewing and most of all, spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Leroy Wilson of Amarillo; son, Alan Wilson of Amarillo; daughters, Kristie Hiles of Grants, JoAn James of Milan; adopted daughter, Lana Cline of Kingston, Ar.; sisters, Patsy Oglesby, Ginger Waddell, both of Amarillo; four grandchildren; one adopted grandchild; two adopted great-grandchildren.

Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Willie Mae Barton; brothers, Thomas, Kenneth, Robert Barton; one granddaughter.

Keith Yazzie

STEAMBOAT — Graveside Services for Keith Yazzie, 22, will be Saturday, April 18, in family plot, Bah loh kai Mesa, 14 miles N. of Steamboat Chapter House. Burial will be in family plot, Bah loh kai Mesa. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., tonight, April 17, at Desert Memorial,Tuba City.

Yazzie died April 13, 2009, in Flagstaff. He was born April 22, 1986, in Fort Defiance, into the Tangle People Clan for the Honey Comb Rock People Clan.

Yazzie attended Greasewood Boarding School, Tse ho tso Middle School, Window Rock High School, Greyhills High School and Kicking Horse Job Corps in Montana. He was working as a maintenance man at IHS, Tuba City. He enjoyed horseback riding, taming horses, powwow music, rodeos, working out, spending time with his son, family, friends and helping out others.

Survivors include his son, Kenan Yazzie of Tuba City; partner, Michelle Hubbard of St. Michaels; parents, Christine Gorman of Steamboat, Kenneth Yazzie of Low Mountain; brothers, Cornallsen Diaz Cortez of St. Michaels, Kendall Yazzie of Tuba City, Ken Yazzie; sister, Candelaria Yazzie of Steamboat; adoptive parents, LaTanya Diaz Cortez, Raymond Curley; Nathaniel Diaz Cortez, Ramon Curley, LaTalia Curley, Coolio Curley, Enrico A. Diaz Cortez Curley of St. Michaels; grandparents, Frank Gorman, Grace Begay.

Yazzie was preceded in death by, Rose Gorman, Dorothy Gorman, James Gorman Sr., James Gorman Jr., Johnny Gorman, Paul Gorman, Jerry Gorman, Bertha Gorman, Benjamin Begay Jr., Kee Yazzie, Juanita Yazzie.

Pallbearers will be Kendall Yazzie, Ken Yazzie, Cornallsen Diaz Cortez, Nathaniel Diaz Cortez, Ramon Curley, Frederick Butler.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Christine Gorman’s residence, following services.
