Best hot stuff sought for Chili Cook-off

GALLUP — Area cooks are invited to enter a chile cook-off on Friday that will benefit Relay For Life.

The contest will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 1800 Red Rock Drive. It will feature four categories of chile: Tex-Mex, Southwestern red, Southwestern green, and most unique. Prizes will be awarded.

Community members are invited to judge all the entries. Admission is $5, which includes “taste test” samples of all the entries. Winners will be determined by the entry that gets the most “votes” of money donations.

The Merry Marching Methodists Relay For Life Team is sponsoring the Chili Cook-off as a benefit event for the American Cancer Society.
