Deaths

Eno Begay

LUPTON — Funeral services for Eno Begay, 25, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, June 25, at Cope Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Raymond Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Begay died June 19, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born Jan. 28, 1984, into the Black Streak People Clan for the Kiiyanniinii People Clan.

Begay was raised in Richfield, Utah, where he went to school. He graduated from Valley High School in Sanders. He enjoyed being with his nephews, nieces, friends and other extended family members.

Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Alfreda Begay; sisters, Geraldine, Celeste, Devenae Begay; brothers, Jayni, Elijuwan, Ningeal, Jerry Begay Jr.

Begay was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hoskie and Marie Slim Begay.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Castillo Jr., Ningeal Begay, Jerry Begay Jr., Wyman Whitman, Miles Connolly, Zachary Connolly.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Leonard Begaye’s residence, (2.5 miles southeast of Lupton Community Chapter House), following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Dixie Gleason

ALBUQUERQUE — Services are pending for Dixie Kien Gleason, 58.

Gleason died Monday, June 22, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born June 4, 1951, in Crownpoint.

Meeting will be 5-9 p.m., tonight, June 24, at Thoreau Chapter House, Thoreau.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Luis Morales Sr.

GAMERCO — Services for Luis Morales Sr., 75, will be 9:30 a.m., Thursday, June 25, at St. Francis Catholic church, Gallup. The Rev. Lalo will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup. A rosary will be recited 9:30 a.m., June 25, at St. Francis Catholic Church.

Morales died June 22, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born Dec. 28, 1933, in Santa Barbara.

Morales was retired from Pepsi Co. His hobbies included fishing, mechanical work, and the flea market.

Survivors include his wife, Guadalupe Morales; sons, Jesus Morales, Manuel Morales, Tavo Morales, Luis Morales Jr., Salvador Morales, Rueben Morales; daughters, Teresa Morales, Estella Morales; sisters, Consuelo Corral, Roa Trejo, Ortencia Casas; many grandchildren.

Morales was preceded in death by Luis Morales, Elisa Morales, Roberto Morales.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Gonzales, Aaron Gonzales, Salvado Morales, Manuel Morales, Anthony Morales, Luis Morales Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at KC Hall, Gallup, following services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gallup Relay for Life, American Cancer Society.

Marvin Puckett

STROUD, Okla. — Memorial service for Marvin Puckett, 93, will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 27, at Midway Baptist Church, Wewoka, Okla. 
Puckett died June 21, 2009, in Stroud, Okla. He was born Dec. 1, 1915, near Okemah, Okla. 

Puckette was an educator who spent his career improving the education system on the Navajo Reservation in Chinle.

Survivors include his wife, Ora Jo Puckett; brothers, Wayne Puckett, Allen Puckett; sister, Lila Kirkland; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Maybelle Redhouse

BELL, Calif. — Funeral services for Maybelle Jane Redhouse, 65, will be 10 a.m., June 26, at First American Indian Church, 2218 Hancock Street, Los Angeles, Calif. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City, Calif.

Redhouse died June 21, 2009, in Pasadena, Calif. She was born March 24, 1943, in Ganado, into the Black Streak Forest People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Redhouse attended and graduated from Phoenix Indian High School. She worked for and retired from Papermate Company.

Survivors include her daughter, Terrilyn Redhouse; sons, Ronnie Redhouse, Bennie Redhouse; sister, Angela Brown of Bell, Calif, Stella Yazzie, Betty Dallas, Nora Mann, Marsadie Jones, Cecelia Lester, Anna Tapaha, all of Klagetoh, Mary Johnson of San Lorenzo, Calif., Marie Hubbard of Ganado; brothers, Anderson Begay, Franklin Begay, both of Klagetoh; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Redhouse was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Redhouse; daughter, Davina Redhouse; parents, Raymond and Theresa Begay; numerous brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Bennie Redhouse, Nathan Begay, Joseph Billy, Joe Billy, Randall Murphy, Larry Pavatea.

The family will receive relatives and friends at First American Indian Church, following services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wells Fargo Bank under, Maybelle Jane Redhouse.

Yolanda Tom-Swift

EL PASO — Funeral services for Sgt. Yolanda K. Tom-Swift, 32, will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 26, at Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene, Teesto, Ariz. Burial will be in family burial site, White Grass Ranch.

Tom-Swift died June 20, 2009, in El Paso. She was born Sept. 4, 1976, in Holbrook, into the Red Bottom People Clan for the Edgewater People Clan.

Tom-Swift graduated from South Mountain High School, South Mountain Community College with a AA Degree. She served 6 years in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include her sons, Brandon Watts, Taydon Watts, Matthew Watts, all of Tolani Lake, Ariz., Samuel Swift, Cristian Swift, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; mother, Margaret Tom of Tolani Lake; sister, Yvonne Cadman of Fort Defiance.
Tom-Swift was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Tom.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 6 p.m., tonight, June 24, at Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene, Teesto.
