Lawrence Atsye

NEW LAGUNA — Funeral services for Lawrence R. Atsye, 84, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 30, at Calvary Gospel Chapel, Casablanca. The Rev. Daniel Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Old Laguna Cemetery. A traditional wake will be 7 p.m., tonight, July 29, at Atsye family home, Old Laguna.

Atsye died July 28, 2009, in New Laguna. He was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Old Laguna.

Atsye was a veteran of World War Ii and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Ascott Atsye of New Laguna; children, Sandra Luther of Winslow, Linda Martin of Paguate, Venida McGlothin of Payson, Janice Quiroz of New Laguna, Lydon Atsye of New Laguna; brother, Paul Turner of San Fidel; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Atsye was preceded in death by his son, Emmett Atsye; parents, Charles Atsye, Alice Marmon Atsye; brothers, Michael Atsye, Daniel Atsye, Everett Atsye; sisters, Emerald Leija, Geraldine Rice.

Pallbearers will be Michael Luther, Brian Luther, Jason Atsye, Jeremy Martin, Travis McGlothin, Robert Atsye, Joel Martin, Andrew Atsye, Dominic Quiroz.

Paul Petranto

RAMAH — Funeral Mass for Paul Petranto, 54, will be 12 p.m., Thursday, July 30, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3700 Canyon Road. A rosary will be recited 11 a.m., July 30, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Internment will be in Guaje Pine Cemetery.
Petranto died July 23, 2009, in El Malpais. He was born Aug. 22, 1953, in Italy.

Petranto attended Los Alamos High School and worked in the construction field for more than 30 years.

Survivors include his father, Joseph Petranto of Los Alamos; brother, Steve Petranto of Peachtree City, Ga.; sister, Lisa Petranto of Austin, Texas.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Catholic Parish Hall, following services.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a children’s charity of your choice.
