Instructor, church elder admits teen sex offense

GALLUP — A former instructor at UNM-Gallup will register as a sex offender after he pleaded no contest Wednesday to criminal sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl.

The girl’s name is withheld to protect her identity.
John David Gonzales, 55, agreed to register as a sex offender for life as part of a plea agreement reached Wednesday with Deputy District Attorney Bernadine Martin.
