Rita Begay

LITTLEWATER — Funeral services for Rita Woody Begay, 81, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Rock of Ages Church. Harry D. Largo will officiate. Burial will be in family cemetery, Littlewater.

Begay died Aug. 14, 2009, in Gallup. She was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Littlewater.

Begay was a rug weaver, silver smith, and rancher. She was employed for the Navajo Nation (CETA) Program for many years as a supervisor.

She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Wilbert John Begay of Shiprock; sons, Woodie Ben Tom of Littlewater, Bahe Tom of Milan, Jaymes W. Tom of Crownpoint, Jones W. Tom of Littlewater, Edison Woody of Smithlake, Alexander Tom of Littlewater, Samuel Tom of Littlewater; eight step-children of Shiprock; daughters, Bessie Enrico of Littlewater, Sadie M. Woodie of Littlewater, Louise Woodie of Littlewater, Bernice T. Benally of Becenti; parents, Marguerito Castillo, Yah-de-bah Castillo; brothers, John Woody, Tommy Woody; 82 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Begay was preceded in death by her husband, Little Tom; daughter, Lillian T. Ration; son, Samson Tom; sister, Elsie Tom; brother, Frank H. Woody Sr.; two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bahe Tom, Jaymes W. Tom, Jones W. Tom, Alexander Tom, Samuel Tom, Alexis Tom.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Rock of Ages Church, Littlewater.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Adrian Heyde

CHINLE — Funeral services for Adrian Gene Heyde, 29, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Chinle. Bishop Randy Yellowhair will officiate. Burail will be in family land, Chinle. Visitation will be 9 a.m., one hour prior to services.

Heyde died Aug. 13, 1980, in Fort Defiance. He was born June 4, 1980, in Fort Defiance, into the Water Flows Together People Clan for the Water Edge People Clan.

Heyde was a self employed artist, who was very talented. He enjoyed being around family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and was never a dull moment around him. Heyde was also a very fast learner and an out spoken person. His since of humor will be missed.

Survivors include his son, Dresen Heyde; daughters, Diamond Whitesinger, Adrianna Heyde; parents, Raymond Gene Jr., Virginia Heyde; brothers, Nolan Heyde, Ryan Heyde, Bonito Gene; sister, Audrey Heyde; grandmother, Helen Brown Heyde.

Heyde was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Heyde Sr., Raymond Gene Sr., Nadine Gene.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Quinn Heyde, Lemanuel Yellowman, Vincent Lewis, Tyson Descheney, Delbert Lewis, Bernal Yazzie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 1/4 NE of Chinle Bashas.

Barbara Morgan

PHOENIX — Services for Barbara Ann Morgan, 48, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church. Deacon Gerald Morgan and Reverend Bobby Boyd will officiate. Burial will be at family plot, Pinedale.
Morgan died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, in Phoenix. She was born April 11, 1961, in Los Angeles, Calif.

Morgan lived in Lacey, Wash., and was an enrolled member of the Kiowa Nation of Okla., and the Navajo Nation. She graduated from Chinle High School in 1979, received her Associate Degree from Dine College in 1982, and graduated as a Medical Assistant from Apollo College in Phoenix. She resided in Lacey, Wash., at the time of her death and was employed with the Red Wind Casino in Olympia, Wash., as a Security Officer Supervisor.

Survivors include her parents, Buddy and Glenda Morgan of Phoenix; sisters, Beverly Mitchell, Brenda Charley, both of Avondale, Ariz., Missy Clauschee of Phoenix; one granddaughter.
Morgan was preceded in death by her brother, Gerard G. Morgan.

Pallbearers will be Auska Mitchell, Sr., Jerry Charley, Ernest Clauschee, Russell Hawkins, Jerreth Morgan, Jeremy Morgan, Auska Mitchell, Jr., and Francis Zuni.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Teresa Stern

GRANTS — Services for Teresa “Terri” Stern, 56, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Compassion Mortuary. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park.

Stern died Aug. 14, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born in Baird, Texas.

Stern lad an eventful life. At 16 years old she discovered and accepted the Baha’i faith, and remained firm throughout her life. She had a great interest in movie making and participated for a time with the Poco Loco Players in Grants. She was also a member of For the Animals of Cibola County, and she had a special affinity for cats.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Stern of Grants; mother, Ruby Longrie of Grants; daughter, Teresa Hornberger of Grants; son, Keith Bradshaw of Cleveland, Texas; brothers, Dennis Savell of Hobbs, Steve Savell of Odessa, Texas, Terry Don Longrie of Missouri and Louisiana; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Stern was preceded in death by her father, Charles Savell.
