2 stabbings reported on Ceremonial Copyright © 2009 GALLUP — There were at least two stabbings during Ceremonial weekend. The first took place Saturday about 9:45 p.m. among teenagers at the skate park at 801 W. Hill Ave. in Gallup’s Chihuahita neighborhood. Two boys, brothers, told police they were approached by an unknown Native American man whose age they guessed to be about 20. The man allegedly slapped one of the two brothers and accused them of “talking smack,” prompting the older brother to defend the other brother. The older brother fought, wrestled with the man, who pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the boy twice in the chest, according to Gallup Police Officer Shane Bennett’s report.
