Judge ends consent decree
City settles Native Americans’ employment discrimination lawsuit

GALLUP — A lawsuit alleging city job discrimination has been settled, and responsibilities to the claimants who originated the complaint have been satisfied, city officials said.

City Attorney R. David Pederson said a decision on the matter was received Aug. 12. U.S. Magistrate Judge W. Daniel Schneider signed off on a city motion to end a consent decree begun in 2004.
