Harry Bahe

CHICHILTAH — Services are pending for Harry Mike Bahe, 44.

Bahe died Saturday, July 25, 2009, in Tucson. He was born April 28, 1965, in Gallup.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Tom Nelson

SMOKE SIGNAL — Graveside services for Tom Nelson, 57, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the family plot, 2 miles east of Low Mountain Chapter, Smoke Signal. The Rev. Ben Yazzie will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, 2 miles east of Low Mountain Chapter.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Nelson, Francis Wartz, Nelson Betom, Jack Betom, Franklin Begay.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Betom residence, 2 miles east of Low Mountain Chapter, Smoke Signal.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Bessie Tsingine

TUBA CITY — Funeral services for Bessie Lee Tsingine, 64, were 9:30 a.m., today, Aug. 31, at the First Baptist Church, Tuba City. Burial was in Page Cemetery. Visitation was 8:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church.

Tsingine died Aug. 27, 2009, in Flagstaff. She was born July 6, 1945, in Farmington, into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Tangle People Clan.

Tsingine had a Master of Arts Degree in Education from Northern Arizona University, Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from University of Arizona, attended Polytechnic High School in Riverside, Calif. She was employed as an educator for over 30 years at Tuba city Boarding School, Moencopi Day School, Gap School and Kaibeto Boarding School. Her hobbies included avid basketball and was a rodeo fan. She loved to watch her children and grandchildren participate in all activities.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Tsingine Sr.; sons, Roger Tsingine Jr., Marcus Tsingine; daughters, Kristy Tsingine-Begay, Krisheena Tsingine; brother, John Foster; sister, Annie Dickie; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Tsingine was preceded in death by her daughter, Roxanne Tsingine; sister, Rose Mary Billie; brother, Lee John Jr.; parents, Lee John Sr., Mary Lou Marshall.

David Walters

FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for David Ivan Walters, 34, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Naschitti Community Cemetery, Naschitti.

Walters died Aug. 21, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Feb. 16, 1975, in Gallup, into the Tangle People Clan for the Salt People Clan.

Walters attended Twin Lakes Elementary and graduated from Wingate High School. He was a Navy veteran and was deployed to South America and through the Panama Canal. He attended ITT-Technical Institute in Albuquerque, to become certified in electronics. Walters was an accomplished guitar player, both accoustic and electric, and the drums. He will be remembered for helping other in need and he never left a face without a smile.

Survivors include his sons, Joey Martin Walters of Yahtahey, Isaiah Nathaniel “Turtle” Walters of Gallup; daughters, Deliah Desirée-Ilee Walters of Gallup, Gabrielle Lindell Walters of Gallup; father, Glenn Walters Sr.; brother, Henry Tsinnie of Denver, Colo.; sisters, Desirée Tsinnie of Fort Defiance, Jenibah Haynes of Tucson.

Walters was preceded in death by his mother, Loula E. Walters; brother, Glenn Walters Jr.
Pallbearers will be Earl Sherman Jr., Aerol Sherman, Chance Sherman, Alister Niiha, Joel Halona, Sharon Yazzie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Naschitti Chapter, following services. The family met 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
