Evalena Sanchez
GRANTS — Funeral services for Evalena Brewington Sanchez, 79, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at Compassion Mortuary. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. The Rev. Garland Moore will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 18, at Compassion Mortuary.
Sanchez died Sept. 13, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born Feb. 24, 1930, in Hockerville, Okla.
Sanchez married in 1951 and moved to Grants in 1958. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Michael Sanchez; daughter, Terri Harris; step-son, Danny Sanchez; step-daughter, Margaret Padilla; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Sanchez was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Sanchez; parents, Chester Brewington, Bessie Sykes Brewington; sisters, Edna Conner, Dorothy Garber, Leorine McKay, Morvine Anderson, Beulah Brewington; brother, Bud Brewington.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Anderson, Michael Garcia, Daren DeAguero, Chris Brito.

Robert White
BELEN — Burial for Robert lee White, 85, will be 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 18, at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
White died Sept. 5, 2009. He was born April 15, 1924, in Hannibal, Missouri.
White served in WWII with the 487th Bomb Group, USAAF. He was a man of many facts, a boy scout, swimmer, diver, golfer, bowler, pool player, photographer, outdoorsman, dog lover, dancer, railroader and Cowboy fan. White had a great zest for life, with energy and strength that belied his age. Those who knew him will remember a cantankerous exterior and just beneath, a sweet, sensitive joyful man who loved his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Pam Sandoval of Rio Rancho, Steven White of Albuquerque, Karen White Pargin of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; step-children, Thomas Edeal of Los Lunas, Dennis Edeal of Rio Rancho, Laurie Boyce of Tijeras, Deborah Norman of Los Lunas; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
White was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary Willa White McOwen; wife, Marcella Santisteven White.
