GRANTS — Police say prior to a search warrant being served on the Franciscan Lodge, people at that location may have been tipped off , resulting in police not finding the evidence they expected to be at the hotel.

Roger Esparza, manager of the hotel, told police the owner of the motel, Rhetta King, the DWI coordinator for the county, was not present when officers arrived with search warrants on Sept. 14, Grants Police Detective Sgt. John Castaneda stated in a prepared statement provided to the Independent.
