Jeannie David

LONG BEACH, Calif. — Funeral services for Jeannie M. David, 62, will be 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Daniel’s Funeral Home, Albuquerque. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Albuquerque. Visitation will be 9 a.m., Oct. 3, at Daniel’s Funeral Home.

David died Sept. 26, 2009, in Long Beach, Calif. She was born Aug. 17, 1947, in Zuni.

David worked in the electronics field for 36 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeanie Luna; father, Lastio Paylusi; brothers, Nick Paylusi, Delbert Haloo, Lothario Haloo; sisters, Lucille Siutza, Laura Faye Paylusi; two grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy David; mother, Luttie Lamy.

Franklin Luther

SEAMA VILLAGE — Funeral services for Franklin G. Luther, 90, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Seama Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Seam Community Cemetery. Traditional wake will be 6 p.m., tonight, Oct. 2, at family home, 202 Seama Blvd., Seama Village, New Mexico.

Luther died Sept. 29, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born Nov. 24, 1918, in Seama Village.

Luther was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Santa Fe Burlington Railroad.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Cooata Luther of Seama Village; sons, Byron Luther of Winslow, George Luther of Fort Worth, Joe Luther of Minneola, Fla.

Luther was preceded in death by his parents, John Luther, Amy Allen Luther; sons, William Luther, Dewayne Luther; sister, Francis Analla.

Alleen Manning

GALLUP — Memorial services for Alleen Manning, 49, will be 10 a.m., Oct. 3, at Church of God, Red Rock. Sister Terry Goodin will officiate.

Manning died Sept. 26, 2009, in Santa Fe. She was born May 24, 1960, in Fort Defiance, into the Meadow People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Manning attended Gallup High School. Long time in layer for Nugget Gallery and Anasazi Traders in Gallup. Her hobbies included taking care of her grandchildren and pets. She loved spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include her sons, Carlos Rascon, Kyle Charlie; daughter, Danielle Charlie; sisters, Geraldine Tracy, Ardine Johnson, Adrienne Manning; eight grandchildren.

Manning was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lenora Manning; sisters, Lorinela Manning, Doris Padilla; grandparents, Raymond and Louise Eskeets, George and Lula Manning.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 2 p.m., at Churchrock Chapter House.

Joanne Martin

OJO ARMARILLO — Funeral services for Joanne Barber Martin, 66, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, at First United Methodist Church, Gallup. The Rev. Ted Charles will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth.

Martin died Sept. 28, 2009, in Farmington. She was born July 22, 1943, in Rehoboth, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Over Hanging Rock People Clan.

Martin attended the University of New Mexico and Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. She worked as a part-time sales clerk at JC Penny’s during high school, book keeper for merchants banks, a journalist for Navajo Nation Times, and retired as a rancher and family book keeper. She was known for her sewing skills.

Survivors include her husband, Chaves Martin Sr. of Ojo Armarillo; sons, Chaves Martin Jr. of Ojo Armarillo, William Martin of Ojo Armarillo; daughters, Dianne Cumiford of Mesa, Janet Manuelito of Kirtland, Justine Dodge of Fruitland, Brenda LeValdo of Ojo Armarillo; mother, Daisy Barber of Gallup; brothers, Wilson Barber Jr. of Gallup, Kenneth Barber of Gallup; sisters, Rose Damon of Window Rock, Carole Barber of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren.

Martin was preceded in death by her father, Wilson Barber Sr.; sister, Mildred Barber.

Pallbearers will be Chaves Martin Jr., William Martin, Vincent Cumiford, Ernie Manuelito, Evans Dodge, Bryce Cumiford.

The family will receive relatives and friends at First United Methodist Church, Gallup, following services.

Mary Yazzie

NOSE ROCK — Funeral services for Mary B. Yazzie, 99, will be 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, at Rollie Mortuary, Gallup. Mark Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth.

Yazzie died Sept. 30, 2009, in Gallup. She was born March 10, 1910, in Bread Springs, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Yazzie was a homemaker, rancher and devoted mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Billy B. Yazzie of Gallup; daughter, Nellie Tyler of Nose Rock; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Yazzie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Yazzie; parents, Glen Bah Yazza, John Tom.

Pallbearers will be Albert Willie, Leonard Willie, David B. Yazzie, Ernie R.Yazzie, Raymond Livingston, Kee Armstrong Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Churchrock Chapter House, following services.
