Ben Daniels

NAZLINI — Funeral services for Ben Daniels, 73, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Paul Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery.

Daniels died Oct. 9, 2009, in Flagstaff. He was born Oct. 3, 1936, in Churchrock, into the Bitterwater People Clan for the Near the Water People Clan.

Daniels worked at Oscar Macias Plumbing and Heating, was a heavy equipment operator with Carbon Coal and retired from BIA Facility Management with over 40 years of employment.

He was well known for Navajo tradition story telling and for being a master ceremony (public announcer) for various activities. He was a school board member with Wingate Board School.

Daniels enjoyed old western movies and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Daniels; sons, Robbie Daniels, Victor Nelson; step-sons, Joe Yazzie, Ronald Yazzie, Jarvis Yazzie, Arnold Yazzie; daughter, Carol A. Castillo; step-daughtersm, Laverne Yazzie, Jolene Yazzie, Laveena Begay; father, John Daniels; brothers, Neswood Daniels, Donald Natani; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Daniels was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Daniels; sisters, Priscilla Skeets, Althea Peterson; mother, Alice Daniels.

Pallbearers will be Hugh Brown, Gene Wilson, Jarvis Yazzie, Robinson Eskeet, Herbert Whitney, Victor Nelson.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Churchrock Chapter House at 1 p.m., following services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Wilson McKinley

LUKACHUKAI — Services for Wilson McKinley, 68, will be 10 a.m., Oct. 14, at St. Isabel Mission, Lukachukai. Burial will be in Lukachukai Community Cemetery.

McKinley died Oct. 9, 2009, in Flagstaff. He was born March 7, 1941, in Lukachukai, into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the Red House People Clan.

McKinley attended Intermountain Indian School for his education. He liked to read his comic “Archie” books and loved KTNN radio station.

McKinley was preceded in death by Mary and Brown McKinley; sister, Sadie McKinley Miller; brother, Leo McKinley.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Rosina Nez

NASCHITTI — Services are pending for Rosina Nez, 90.

Nez died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, in Crownpoint.

She was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Naschitti, into the Sleeping Rock People Clan for the Salt People Clan.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Tyrone White

CHURCHROCK — Services are pending for Tyrone White, 23.

White died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Oct. 31, 1985, in Gallup, into the Gray Streak End People Clan for the Black Streak of Forest People Clan.

Family gathering will be 6 p.m., tonight, Oct. 13, at Churchrock Chapter House.

Larry Willie Sr.

YAHTAHEY — Services for Larry James Willie Sr., 50, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Bible Navajo Mission, Wildcat. The Rev. Jimmy Bowling will officiate.

Willie died Oct. 10, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Feb. 27, 1959, in Wildcat, into the Towering House People Clan for the Water Edge People Clan.

Willie worked as a concrete finisher with NECA, Shiprock. He was a bullrider with NNRCA and AIRCA in the 1970s-1990’s.

Survivors include his sons, Larry Willie Jr., Marvyn Willie, Marwinn Willie; daughters, MarVina Willie-Benally, MarWina Willie-Clairday; brothers, David Willie, Harrison Willie, Nelson Willie, Edison Willie, Charley Willie; sisters, Jean Tulley, Edith Woods, Mary Arviso, Isbell Nez, Susie Willie, Vergene Willie; five grandchildren.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucille; brother, Benjamin; sister, Maggie Yonnie.

Pallbearers will be Steven Benally, Philip Clairday, Kendall Miller, Randell Miller, Robert Largo, Ferlin Yonnie, Johnson Nez, Eddie Willie.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
