BLACK HAT — A 2-year-old girl died during a fatal crash Tuesday morning on N.M. Highway 264 near County Road 1.

A late model Jeep Grand Cherokee was the only vehicle involved in the crash, which took place about 6 a.m., according to McKinley County Sheriff’s Investigator Owen Peña. Inside were three people — the driver, Eric Murphy, 29, stepfather of the two small children who were passengers.
