County has 16th fatality from DWI Copyright © 2009 GALLUP — Preliminary blood results show that Eric Murphy was drunk when he crashed Tuesday, with a blood-alcohol content of .11. Once official results are received from the state lab in Albuquerque, which may take a week or more, McKinley County will record its 16th DWI-related fatality this year. Murphy’s nearly 2-year-old stepdaughter was killed in the crash, which took place near the intersection of County Road 1 and N.M. Highway 264 about 6 a.m. Tuesday. His 3-year-old stepson was also injured. The names of the children have not yet been released by investigators with McKinley County Sheriff’s Office.
