GALLUP — Gallup McKinley County School Board officials are beginning to wonder when, if ever, the school district will have a calendar for the present school year.

The district should have had one approved early in the summer, but because of delays — mostly dealing with negotiations with the local teachers’ union — the calendar is still a work in progress, leaving parents up in the air as to when the school breaks will be later this year so they can plan trips and vacations.
