Mary Batson

GALLUP — Services are pending for Mary L. Batson, 73.

Batson died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, in Albuquerque. She was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Tucumcari.

Viewing will be 4:30 p.m., Nov. 12, at Rollie Mortuary.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Ida Curbis

JAMESTOWN — Memorial services for Ida P. Curbis, 87, will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, at St. Francis Church, Gallup. A rosary will be recited 10:30 a.m., one hour prior to services.
Curbis died Nov. 9, 2009, in Jamestown. She was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Gallup.

Curbis graduated from Cathedral High School. She worked as a telephone operator, Aviation, BIA, Kachina Packing, California Market Uptown Plaza, County Extension Agency.

Survivors include her husband, Dominic Curbis of Gallup; son, Phil Curbis of Gallup, daughter, Dorie Havens of Gallup; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Curbis was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Marie Pardich; sisters, Stafie Kozeliski, Mary Chepin, Mildred Allen.

Pallbearers will be Cynthia Curbis, Dominic Curbis, Kylie Curbis, Andrew Havens, Dominique Havens, A.J. Havens.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Curbis residence, 1420 Linda Dr., Gallup, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Grant Morgan

PINEDALE — Funeral services for Grant Morgan, 79, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, at Rollie Mortuary, Gallup. Burial will be in Pinedale.

Morgan died Nov. 4, 2009, in Pinedale. He was born May 31, 1930, in Pinedale, into the Mountain Cove People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Morgan was a laborer and worked for the railroad. He enjoyed making cradle boards and being friendly.

Survivors include his sons, Jimmy Morgan of Crownpoint, Eugene Morgan of Tsayatoh; daughters, Shirley Gibson-Lee of Thoreau, Virginia M. Charley of Mariano Lake; brothers, Harry Morgan, Francis Morgan, both of Pinedale; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Morgan was preceded in death by his wife, Mary lee Morgan; son, Frank J. Morgan; sister, Esther Irving; parents, Willie Charlie Morgan, Fannie Morgan.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Lee, Wilbert Morgan, Michael Irving, Larry Irving, Tommy Gray, Jeffery Irving.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
