Navajo Ed Board to target truancy

WINDOW ROCK — The Navajo Board of Education approved funds for a consultant to conduct policy analysis on the proposed attendance laws for school children on the Navajo Nation, according to a report for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2009.

The National Center for School Engagement will also make recommendations on the proposed “Policies and Procedures for the Enforcement of the Navajo Nation Compulsory School Attendance Law.”
