Leo Catcheway

GALLUP — Funeral Mass for Leo David Catcheway, 61, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Gallup. The Rev. O’Keefe will officiate. Private disposition will be in Gallup. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Nov. 20, at Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Catcheway died Nov. 16, 2009, in Gallup. He was born June 4, 1948, in Manitoba, Canada.

Catheway was a maintence man at Nizhoni Apt. for 4 years. He was a handy man throughout the community. He enjoyed volunteering his services at Casa San Martin and Missionary of Charities. Catheway also enjoyed taking photos of special family gatherings and picking pinons.

Survivors include his wife, Yolanda A. Martinez Catcheway; daughters, Perrilynne Silva, Shannon Sowers; 13 grandchildren.

Catcheway was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Cote, Frank Catcheway.

Pallbearers will be Mikhail, Geraldo, James Martinez, Orlando Martinez, Richard F. Analla, Perry H. Schanefelt, Bill Boyle.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Gallup Christian Church, following services.

Cassandra Hodgekiss

DURANGO, Colo. — Services are pending for Cassandra Hodgekiss, 30. Hodgekiss died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, in Durango, Colo. She was born Sept. 7, 1979, in Idaho Fall, Idaho.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Christine Nechero

GALLUP — Funeral services for Christine I. Nechero, 64, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel, Gallup. The Rev. Michael Kleeberger will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Nechero died Nov. 14, 2009, in Gallup. She was born Jan. 4, 1945, in Clovis.

Nechero graduated from Gallup High School. She will be remembered as Christine Chalk or Chris Underwood. She moved back to Gallup to run the family business at the Credit Bureau of Gallup.

Her interests were her faith, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Survivors include her sons, David Meyers of Albuquerque, Joe Meyers of Gallup; brother, David Chalk of Daphne, Ala.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Nechero was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Mariette Chalk.

Pallbearers will be David Evans, Clifford Hudgeons, Titus Linville, Reggie Hightower, Will Padavich, Billy Padavich, Alan Cumiford.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 213 State Hwy. 564, following services.

Myron Sam

GALLUP — Services for Myron Ray Sam, 19, will be 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at Cope Mortuary, Gallup. Evangelist Joe Yazzie will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Sam died Nov. 8, 2009, in Gallup. He was born March 3, 1990, in Gallup, into the Meadow People Clan for the Red Bottom People Clan.

Sam attended UNM-Gallup. He lived to draw and was an artist.

Survivors include his mother, Lauranna Shirley of Albuquerque; brothers, Raymond Sam, Ray R. Sam Jr., both of Albuquerque; sisters, Leanna Sam, Lani Sam, both of Albuquerque; grandmother, Louise Garcia of Albuquerque.

Sam was preceded in death by his father, Ray R. Sam Sr.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Sam, Ray R. Sam Jr., Gerald L. Tom, Leslie John, Tommy Sam, Wilbert Sanders.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Churchrock Chapter House, 1 p.m., Nov. 20.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ursula Santillano

MILAN — Funeral Mass for Ursula L. Santillano, 79, will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Nov. 20, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Santillano died Nov. 13, 2009, in Grants. She was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Villanueva, N.M.

Survivors include her sisters, Mary Salazar of Grants, Georgetta Trujillo of Grants; brother, John Lucero of Indiana.

Santillano was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Santillano; parents, Jose Inez Lucero, Nativida Garcia Lucero; son, Robert Lloyd Gallegos; sisters, Clorinda Gutierrez, Martha Gonzales; brother, Willie Lucero.
