GALLUP — Jurors listened Wednesday to the second confession given by Joseph Evans.

The confession is an interview, which took place Sept. 19, 2005 — about 24 hours after Evans’ first confession. Police recorded both interviews. The tapes, however, proved incomprehensible in court. Attorneys on both sides role-played for the jury and read the transcripts into the record. The jury heard the first confession Tuesday, which took place Sept. 18, 2005, during an interview conducted by New Mexico State Police Agent Patrick Ness and former NMSP Agent Henrietta Soland.
